    on the OP question, no. I don't think you should heal during the countdown.

    If healing during the countdown isn't allowed, neither is a melee class running up close to you...

    It's a duel, if people argue this is wrong, they should gtfo... b:bye

    Might as well say I'm not allowed to heal during the battle, or use seals, or spark. Legitimate skills, and using them during the countdown is a legitimate tactic.

    Why not? They can use all their skills, and healing is what clerics do. would you say a bm can't stun? Sure, it's during the countdown, but are you saying they're not using alter marrows and other defensive skills to prep too?

    If the person has a problem with it, simply duel them again, but with different guidelines. I once dueled barb friend of mine with the rule that I could only heal myself once during the entire duel. It made things more interesting for the both of us. Just take each fight as it comes. b:chuckle

    I tend to do this, but then most people I duel use this time to their advantage, such as running close to you if they are melee, or away from you if they are archers. Some buff or or build chi or spark.I don't think of any of this as cheating. If you say healing is unfair, then using pets is unfair because it is 2 against 1. Basically healing is part of your ability as a class. Cleric heals to make up for horrible physical def, hp and lower attack. Venos use pets to make up for hp and lower attack, Wizards have the really high attack to compliment their low hp or bad physical def....there is something special about every class that they can use to get an edge. If you dual, you are supposed to use everything you can to your advantage, after all, you are putting forth your BEST effort. Just like you stack ironheart before a boss, I think you should stack it before a dual. b:cuteb:victory

    Healing is a self inflicted skill (just like a buff) so I dont see the problem

    Healing is like a temporary buff, so yes it is allowed. completely >:3 hehe
    I actually had someone get mad at me for it o.o" beat them without the head start heal the second time though b:victory

    if healings not allowed, i dont know what the melees are fighting clerics for if not for the fact to just stunlock and beat upon someone with 3x less their HP and defense. its pathetic really.

    Use plume shell against phy attacks, if the bm/barb is close to you, just seal em up most of the cases it gives enough time to run far away + spark + wield = about 1/3 to 1/2 hp gone on bms ;]

    Repeat and tadaa you win! :]

    What I just love about clerics is the switch of phy based attacks and elemental attacks b:chuckle though some people are cheap enough to use orbs / apoth potions on duels, (most of the time for us, elemental resist for 20 seconds... that is just plain cheap / unlegit, then you can heal yourself and run at 15 m/s to beat the melee out b:bye)
