Finally 99, restat to arcane?

^ my exact gear & and almost exact stats (unbuffed). slight miscalculations, actual matk on low side is 1 lower (5723) and pdef is 10 higher (3544) but other than that it's almost perfectly correct. I am demon.

I've been LA since level 1, enjoyed every minute of it. Constant (almost RELIABLE when demon sparked) crits, great pdef, amazing survivability. Even with very low ornament refines (+3 on neck/belt) I have over 11k pdef fully buffed (with sage bell, approx 10.1k with lv10)

Survivability for me is a huge thing, I'd rather be even with someone and them not be able to kill me than either lose or win extremely quick due to high damage / low defense. I am totally PvP oriented and with LA I have very few problems with BM's and barbs, clerics aren't too much of a problem, archers and sins are usually very easy. Venos are probably the hardest due to the nix (bleed sux) and haven't really had any experience with psychics.

That being said I'm extremely iffy about restatting to arcane because of the low pdef. Granted the increased matk should be worth it, but due to the fact that I've got limited coin/$$/patience I think it will be difficult to sustain my survivability with AA as compared to LA.

Are there any other ex-LA wizzies that restatted around this level that could help me out with a few tips and pointers, gear- or farming-wise? As for endgame gear the only thing I'm sure about is tt99 gold arcane sleeves that I will eventually turn into nirvana.

    EDIT: i +5 the 99 gold wepaon because to +7 only adds 500 raw damage :S

    Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
    ...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
    Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.
    So Scissors beat Paper and avoids Rock, and that is called BALANCE. -cheze

    Haha the weapon was a gift, I didn't refine it at all. I'm LA so leaned toward crit, considering that weapon also gives evasion and magic it's great for me. I am looking forward to getting the Inferno-Heaven Ravager: Souless
    That 95 robe is lunar, right? How is it attained? I'm mostly looking at farming TT and Nirvana, I know nothing about lunar gear. What are the benefits, how hard/easy are they to get?

    Just do it, your survivability will be as good or better, thanks to a LOT more mdef, and the 4-5% drop in critrate is easily made up for by a large increase in damage.
    Wondering how much longer these **** packs are going to be around.

    Question. Don't most LA (Archer and Sins anyway) Use at least 1 if not two Ele res orns (neck/belt)?

    At 90 you can get the Ele res gold neck with +5% hp. "IF" you were to stay LA, I'd highly suggest that.

    This is my build. I have a little less pdef unbuffed, but I have sage Stone Barrier so It gets boosted a little more. With plans on getting Sapphire Hat and the 4th map belt. My HP is very close to yours also.

    There're ways of surviving hits with slightly lower hp/pdef/mres, but wizzies are meant to hit harder then they are hit.

    Im guessing at 99 you're not really looking at 90 gear, but just showing you what is possible even with arcane wizzies. When you get lvl 9x, you can work on gear and really level the playing feild in PK/TW, and the most important thing in TW/PK is hitting harder and not getting hit much. Kiting is fun. Annoying the BM/Barb who is after you is even more fun.

    Whatever you decide to do, enjoy your wizard. It's a great class, and I'm glad I chose it.

    that weapon is good because need for tt99 gold what give 3% crit max mattack and hp ;) so dont drop away if u dont have money for rank8 or for nirvana.

    no its not good.. only reason to keep it is the fact its +8 and u can use it to decompose for tt 99 gold and nirvana..

    so sell it and buy another clean one then craft tt99 -.-

    @Shevanel: No, most my level only use pdef orns - either cube neck/warsoul belt or tt99 gold pdef neck/belt for the increased DPS. Thanks for the tips!

    Lunar chest piece is cheaper than a TT99 chest and has better defenses. Lunar is 13 essences (500-600k each) 3 transparent crystals (1-2mil) 1 fragment crystal (500k) 4 sacred Mother's Auras (2-2.5mil) 2 unknown tinders (2-3mil) 1 chromatic tinder (9mil??) and a partridge in a pear tree. All up 30-40mil.
    Nirvana 99 chest is at least 40-60mil (haven't checked mat prices lately).
    If you want the TT99 set bonus make TT99 boots to go with TT99 sleeves. It's usually best to keep with TT90 pants until/if you get nirvana.

    You already have stone barrier that will give you more pdef than an archer, and with the refines and shhards you'd have comparable HP to an archer. I just see ele orns as being quite the clear choice.

    Haha I know Ty pretty well, and most archers/sins my level usually only have pdef ornaments. I know LA wizzies that use ele orns, yes, just always been afraid of melee classes honestly because most magic classes are squishy as hell hahaha

    Well, let's count them as they are:
    I have 13k mag attk, 15 crit, 7400 pdef self buffed (8200 mdef) and 6006 HP.
    Is it just me, or there is something wrong with your LA survivability against my AA one.

    well, I actually put in about 400$ since I'm playing this game (march 2009), that's more than 1 year.
    Most of it was before anni packs, about 250 spend on **** while low lvls (Fashion, mounts, charms, DOs ... things like that I bought from boutique, I enjoy it and I felt like I'm supporting the free game since that amount during 6 months was basically....peanuts).
    Then anni packs came out and I spent 50$ on them.
    Then I spent another 2x50 on two DO sales, can't remember when exactly.
    That's all the money I charged. Uber gear? don't think so.
    And I'm basically doing ZERO farming in game. I'm just chilling around, do the dailies, raise a genie, try my luck with OHT gear, going in 3rd map now to make the coins I need for daily stuff...True, I have a friend that did a lot of merchanting for me and I pretty much got a part of his gear when he quit the game, but still. Even with my own original gear I would have been at 5500 HP, 6.7k pdef, 12crit and 12k magic attk self buffed only.

    I'm not saying this to brag about it, I'm saying it to prove that with a little time on hands, one could acquire the same gear if not better. Set your goals and follow them. Right now being wizard is not really worth it, and almost all endgame wizards I know quit when they realized that. 5aps classes rule this game.
    I would have went for rank8 or nirvana honestly, but I might quit playing for a while starting June. I'm not sure if this time I'm going to come back to this game (GW2 is as close as ever).

    I have twice as much dmg in stats, more mag def, same pdef (if not more cause of my lvl 11shield) same crit in stats, and more hp without a single piece of nirvana/event gear

    but wiz suck anyway

    G15 Nirvana Sword +10 with 350 hp, 3 or 4 crit and mag attack if I am not mistaken... and about 15-20 attack lvl from Shards/Nirvana setbonus.

    always, just not hardcore. I have a shop running 24/7 on an ancient laptop, but nothing else special.
    I've said before, I had a friend that did merchanting for me. I'm kinda .... non productive in the merchanting department to say the least. But he got some incredible gear with incredible deals. He has that thing successful merchants have: he can find the biggest possible sucker and make a deal with him.
    So, up to about lvl 90 I managed my gear alone, then I gave everything I had extra and the cash I made to this guy. And he did the job. Too bad he quit, or I would have had already rank8 from his merchanting, lol.
    And remember another thing: when anni packs came out there were a lot of nubs selling scrolls of tome for 30 mil, Lunar ornaments for 25-30 mil....someone sold 4000 tokens at 1000/piece in a catshop an this guy was lucky enough to see it.
    Then a lot of ppl quit for the new server (RT) and sold a lot of the gear they had for gold on that server. Incredible what deals someone that put some time in it could come out with.
    Now everyone knows the value of the gear, and some ppl have problems doing quick math with big numbers.

    Hmm, sounds like a lucky connection you got there. ;) If he didn't quit I would have asked if I could rent him, lol. But you are right about the deals. I got both of my Lunar Rings for 20-25M a piece, same for Event cape, helm and boots. All of that when Anni packs where around the first time and I was about lvl 75-80.. And people were laughing at me for planning ahead. b:chuckle

    There's my gear. All the g1 sapphires are +1 attack stones.
