We've all heard them. Some have actually been believable and others... others have been so terrible you honestly feel a five year old would have made a better job of it.

Let us share more memorable excuses together, shall we? I mean many of the bad ones are just laughable and some of the really bad ones bring a tear to your eye. (Tear of laughter of course.)

My most recent, ****-poor excuse.

I charm tanked a whole FB39. Now I am fine with my charm ticking if I am being stupid. If I run into fifty mobs, survive but my charm ticks, sure, my fault. I'll admit to that. When I've been suffering enough bleed damage (142 max, by the way. Nothing above that) to make my charm tick, I know that I am being neglected. Why was I out of pots? I'd already used them during the FB so far, all before Calcid, because of this neglect.

(For the record, that's 5022 HP, HP charm ticks at 50% so that is, roughly and give or take any extra hits, 2511 bleed damage it took to tick the charm. Let's be generous and say 1800 and that 711 damage came from any additional monster attacks during Calcid. At 142 bleed, that's a long-**** time to go without heals.)

Cleric claims he didn't think I was tanking. Picture the squad: I am the highest level and the next highest is the 83 archer. Yeah. Ten levels below me. Of course she's tanking, I totally won't out-damage her. Nope. Never. That was excuse number one. As if that wasn't bad enough, cleric then tells me "I was AoE healing". Well, yes, he was. There was one chromatic heal.... at Trioc. Did I mention Trioc ticked me as well, because the cleric was too busy killing one measly add the other archer hadn't quite killed yet?

I've seen some bad excuses but this was the most recently laughable one I've heard for a while. Knowing PWE players, it isn't hard to beat, so let's hear some of the epic excuses you guys have come across lately!

    a cleric, a barb, and 3 veno's. one with herc. and she was one...complete...fail...
    fail veno's is bad.. dails veno's with a herc.. is really bad.
    well at drake she 'forgets' to heal her herc. me and the other veno are keeing her herc alive. while we try to explain her what a tome is Q__Q squad wipe.. since the cleric wasn't even there yet (the cleric didn't need the boss) but well oke.. we all get back on our feet. and that's it.

    don't ask me if this one was after. But I gues so...
    at Glutt... we're standing on the ground in front of the hill with glutt.
    I'm standing ready to lure the boss down. I ask the barb if he's tanking. everyone denies and says the herc is. I look at the veno's herc. fully buffed so I prepare to lure.
    at that moment the veno send hre herc right into glutt + adds. herc dies and boss and adds all come down. the boss resetted for some reason. The barb, other veno and cleric start killing the mobs while I facepalm and the veno ress her herc.
    I'm getting kinda pissed off and tell her NEVER to lure with reflect on.
    'I know!!! but herc didn't stow!!'

    the veno summons her herc. gives it buffs except reflect and lures boss by herself anway >_> gosh how much I wanted to crit to grab that pretty agro >_>


    another time I've been told after killing the gatekeeper at drake.
    'lure that mob, you have to send in your pet, let it hit and then stow it.'

    Maybe the Cleric was being hit by the mob?

    One TT1-2 a few months back. Nothing really special in squad setup but we did have 93 veno with herc that was tanking. Veno told us she doesn't want to tank while one veno was AFK. We asked why, and she replied "because my herc is level 20". I lolled at that point.

    1) Send in BM
    2) Tell him to use Roar
    3) Send him back

    Rose, it's because I was mostly doing all the killing. The Herc veno kinda sat back and did nothing after a while, the cleric... I don't know what the cleric was doing but I saw one IH [on the other archer. When she was at full HP. At the same time I was at half. No mobs on anybody, Calcid had just died. Bleed ticked me after this. >>] and three Chromatics in total. [Other times, I was reckless, but this is my own fault for running in and making five mobs blow up on me all at the same time! 8D ]

    The "I didn't think you were tanking" and "I used AoE heals" excuses don't work in this situation at all. >.> It was fun enough though, the tabber was nice.

    There once a time when I cared about getting to the top quickly as possible to help others. Now, I take it slow, and don't worry about having nothing to do. There's always something to do in an MMORPG, especially if you are high level. PK'ing is for those who desire to inflate their egos. True friendship comes from helping one-another, rather than to start rivalries.

    Once, I was in a BH. We had a single cleric. Well, said cleric first said anything after our squad wipe at the hands of one of the bosses. The excuse? "I have a life, dude! I was hungry so I went to make a sandwich!" Did I mention that the cleric never said a word about this, just silently put himself on follow?

    This one time, I had to run afk real quick while on an FC. Actually, I kept getting dragged away. The veno was getting pissy, so I lied and said "ugh! brb.... AGAIN! Imp won't deal with the kids x.x Its his turn!"

    ok i was doing bh39 and 1 of our 2 clerics had to afk we were like ok
    then without announcing he was back he just came back and did a somewhat ok job he didnt say anything but ah well theres worse things even though the squad failed a bit
    so we come at farren lure his ads without trouble then i ask if everyone is ready and that 1 cleric rushes into farren not with atacks or anything he just runs right next to him and then he realizes farrens aoe hurt and he runs towards us i quickly flesh ream farren before worse stuff happens the cleric who idioticly pulled him runs of out of farrens room without saying anything we kill farren and everything went sorta ok except no one did what i said by using max range to avoid aoe but no one died so it went ok

    then we ask why the hell that cleric ran into farren at firsts he says nothing but then he says i was afk the entire run i wasnt playing my char ok at that point we got so pissed we kicked him because he didnt tell us and *his friend* nearly caused a squad wipe

    well i already used this one in dreamweaver forum for "best leaving faction exucse" but i suppose it kinda fits here too, last faction i was in, a guy left because "his mom was moving and hed longer have the net, he was 26......and he was in a new faction 2 days later and ive seen him many times since.

    We had a psy in BH 69 that went afk for about twenty minutes. She didn't get lost, but when asked where she'd been (since she'd said she'd only be gone for a minute) she said, "needed a bath. :-)" Hoh boy.

    Perfect thread to drop this story, happened like month ago, still quite pisses me off. We were doing BH51 and we got some quite low cleric(53 or so, so still over the 51 marker), I think it was his faction mates FB/something like that, I joined to do my BH due WC. This was failure on my part, you think I had learned not to freaking joing squads that look for barb in WC, they fail, bad.

    Well we got on cave, mobs etc went quite well, I got heals etc. We got to first boss, I ticked few times as I happened to be charmed at that time, which kinda irritates me when I was high 6x(charm tick = fail cleric). Well it was only few ticks and I saw cleric was on real low mp, I thought he had to save mana to keep my charm from burning bad so I didn`t demand explanation. This was the second fail I did, never assume anything when it comes to WC squads.

    We get to the second boss, I make sure cleric got full mp as I assumed he had to have been on low mana on the start of that last boss. start goes well, then I start to tick from time to time, I look at clerics mana and are like wtf is he doing. We finish the boss and I start demanding some explanation why the hell did he let my charm tick, he answers with I try to save mana excuse. I`m like okey, what pots are you using? "I don`t use pots, I don`t need them". At this point, I told myself to calm down, only 1 boss left.

    I dropped some mana pots before the last boss and told him to use them and get "It`s not about the pots, I have those". At this point I just wanted my BH finished and did it, though I memorized the clerics name so I could skip squads where he was in. I`m still to have any reason for the lack of manapot usage, great spot to save few coins, burn barbs charm for worth 10 or 20x of the coins you are saving.

    I think when you are a high leveling helping out in low level instances, Clerics just get the idea that you don't need any heal. I once tanked BH59 as a favor and I received about 3 or 4 IH throughout the whole thing (3 bosses...). Cleric was apparently busy DDing. I could cover damage from mobs just fine, but when you are receiving no heal at bosses like Ofotis, you know something is wrong.

    That was the last time I ticked half of my charm for a squad that didn't even say anything when all their BHs were done.

    This reminds me of a friend of mine in an instance the other day. The veno was making it a point to Soul Transfuse and ask the cleric to heal her, instead of using pots. The excuse was that they didn't want to use their pots. The cleric told her, "I know you don't want to use your pots, but for every HP pot you don't use, I have to use more MP pots, and the tank has a higher chance of their charm ticking." Then the squad wouldn't take her on anything else until she bought pots to use b:chuckle

    Happened roughly some days ago, as I was doing BH69 we gather a nice squad, 2Clerics, an Archer, myself (Sin) and Mr. Barb (lvl78).

    BH was wined and all, but there was the Barb running next to us in human form *Use tiger form plz, easier to keep aggro*, Barb reply's *Oh ok*. Had suspicions about the Barb as he lost aggro a few times with the mobs, but thought not to worry, mobs died too fast, maybe he didn't think they'd need that much ream. We go on, and I go to lure Pole *ready?* Barb reply's *Ok*. So I lure, make a quick sprint past the Barb, waiting for him to ream, but he doesn't catch him in time, Pole hits me a few, then he reams. So he says and I quote *I am lag*. Ok.. plz tell me if you're good and ready next time*. We all attacking on Pole, and he looses aggro 3-4 times, 3 of them was to me. Barb: *Sorry i am lag*, and the funny thing wasn't that he blanked out and didn't ream, he was using (other) skills on Pole. *Ok.. watch it plz!*. Finally Pole is done, and I am by Nob waiting to lure,*Ready??*, Barb: *Ok lure*. so I lure, run past the Barb and yet again, Nob swings at me 3 times before he reamed. So on this one I didn't attack til Nob was at 75% of hp. and then in less than 10secs, there I am with aggro again, only this time Nob kills me, Barb doesn't ream, Clerics heal aggro and die both, then Barb and Archer...

    Replaced him with a 90+ Barb and went smoothly as it should have.

    I bugged that veno to use amp on boss. She ended asking what is Amp. After getting it explained, she made that lovely comment. Btw, did I mention she was lvl90+ veno?

    This makes me think so much of a barb I had in squad once.. only he didn't use ream at all Q__Q and our cleric kept healing him.. instead of the bm, wizzie, me and other veno who were juggeling with the agro >_>
