Hello, I'm new to Perfect World. Still installing the game as we speak, however, a question arises... two actually. Are there a lot of botters? How is the PvP in this game?

    1. There are less botters here in this game than other games I've played. Most of the time, botters get reported, and the problem gets resolved.
    2. If you want PvP, I suggest you roll your character on a PvP server because after a certain level on PvE servers, you realize how dry the PvP environment is and wish you rolled on a PvP server in the first place.

PvP is available in instances such as Territory War (weekly faction wars), Dragon Temple (weekly Tuesday event), or Cube of Fate (PK enabled rooms). PvP is also available in open areas that are not within the "safe zone" such as in the cities.

If you're on a PvE server, after level 30, you are able to enable your PvP option (turn white name), but after you go PvP and decide to change back to PvE, you'll need to wait the standard 10 hours (assuming you didn't kill anyone).
I call it how I see it.

    Hey there,

Sacredxstar, PvP choice in this game is quite tricky for a newbie, actually. Please allow me to add details.

When in a PvE server, you can get all the time to the world to get to a high level and have good equipment and skills. And THEN you can PvP if you want (from level 30, you can enter PvP mode if you want, and stop it after a while), which is in itself, full freedom, but does bring less spice to it (No, I'm not criticizing).

In a PvP server, PvP concerns all gamers and is permanent. You can get PKed by high levels if you are unlucky and this from level 1. Since it's full PvP, you will have your dose of adrenaline for sure, but only if you do not 'ragequit' after a while.

Please also note that PvP brings a risk of losing items and shattering equipement if enabled, if conditions are met, but you could loot items from red names, too. There are also safe zones, such as towns and cities, where you can take a break.
Oh and if you take PvP in the broader sense, there are duels too.
Better read all of that beforehand.

    So lacruse, do choose wisely.
Maintenance time. Please choose a line:
    - When is it over? OMG I need my fix!! *super spazzing*
    - Fix the damn bugs, dammit! I'm so angry! I'll quit!!
    - New codes out there? I like free stuff~ *wink*
    - When will we get new content? QQ
    - Will we get sales? I got a ton of gold to spend.
    - I'm bored, I'll create a useless thread to annoy Opkorock.
    - *Incessant poking on Sweetiebot* Fun~

Thanks for the info. I'll be rolling on a PvP server. Any decent guilds recruiting? What server would be best?

There's only 2 PvP servers to choose from: Lost City and Harshlands. Lost City has many "older" players than Harshlands, so I would suggest you try there as a newbie.

If you don't mind "older" players (as in players who have played the game longer) then I would suggest that you read their forum's section to get a taste of what the atmosphere is like. As for factions to join, I would suggest you level up in the server first and make friends. Factions will eventually find their way to you, unless they're a territory war faction, then you'd have to apply (assuming you meet their requirements).
I call it how I see it.

Another preconception on pvp servers is that all the high levels camp lowbie areas and pk everyone. There may be one or 2 people who do that, but a lot of the time, you can grind/quest freely. And don't ragequit!!! You can PVP and be smart about it. If you go red, either buy dolls, use SL or just set up shop in adc and come back whenever your time is over. If you buy dolls, make sure you have one on you everytime you die, so you don't make a mistake and go out without dolls. If you use SL, make sure its active.

And dont fall for things >_> One time, one of my friends killed someone and rezzed them over and over. The person kept accepting the rez and each time just got killed and eventually lost their dolls and ended up dropping a flying mount. If you die in PVP, just go to town, you don't lose any exp from dying.

If you get camped, just wait it out. Don't insult them, because it will just make them camp you longer. If it becomes excessive, just go afk for a while, go do chores, watch a show on Hulu.

About botters, someone found a lvl 1 veno botter in the starter area lol. But it's really rare. It was more common when the game started.
