catshops+service unavailable

Sometimes when I try to sell things to a cat shop, it says service unavailable and I can't sell anything at all. Any ideas on why this is?

I've made a cat shop before and I know that you can't try to buy more things than you have money to pay for, so that can't be it. And I check the cat shop a couple of times to make sure someone didn't just ninja me and sell to the cat shop already.

Also, this seems to happen for only some items, as I can still sell different items to the same cat shop.

    Are you sure you're dragging the item you want to sell to a certain cat shop to the correct slot in the said cat shop? Sometimes that may be the problem because you cannot randomly just drag items to just any slot you want. If you're doing it correctly, then it may just be lag. Usually restarting your client works to solve this.

    Yes, I'm dragging them to the correct slots. I'll try restarting my client next time this happens and see if it fixes it.

    yea this has happend to me before .. try choosing another NPC see if that works ..

    Are you trying to sell things when your safety lock is still on?

    You won't be able to sell things when you're lock is still on.

    Think it can happen when the buyer's inv. is full.

    In the last few weeks this has been happening a lot more. When I setup my cat shop people aren't able to sell to me. I've taken everything out and reapplied everything and nothing was working. I asked a friend to come help test it out and he couldn't sell me anything. Then we noticed that as a toon I wasn't showing up in the local option for a squad list in Arch and couldn't see me. Only when I turned into the cat shop he could see me. He walked off screen (out of Arch) and back and then was able to sell to me just fine. It's very annoying as a cat shop because I don't know when people can't sell/buy to/from me.

    I'm new, but I have never been able to sell to a shop, even those that all they were doing was buying. Is this a bug or something? I'm a lvl 21 Veno so perhaps its my level?

    If they dont have enough money to pay you wont be able to sell to them...

    I have had this yesterday when I tried to buy something from a catshop. I think this happens when the player dc'ed - the catshop is still there, but for the transaction to complete a connection must be established between client and server. If this fails, you get "service unavailable".

    I figured out my problem with my Cat shop. Even though I have a few extra slots to hold some items that overflow I proably don't have enough if everything was bought (to acquire more mats than one slot is allowed). I would guess that PW probably now calculates that I don't have the room (even though I have open 3 slots) so it just says service unavabile. It should not fail on this but once I cleaned out my inventory a little more I don't see this issue. For example I have 3 extra slots and I as a Cat shop try to buy one more material that I have the room, for it will give the seller the error service unavailable.

    errors like this happen a lot with the catshops that buy and resell wines/wine mats. sometimes you can sell a single stack of items, but not two stacks of items. the engine treats their inventory as though it is too full to fit anything even though there is room for it to stack on something already there. from what I can imagine, these particular shops have only 1 free slot. If you try to sell 2 or more different items at the same time it wont let you since one item will occupy first the free spot, and the second item will have nowhere to go. I first noticed this oddity when turning in a one man army with a "full" inventory (no free slots). I was told "insufficient inventory slots" even though I already had a celestone fragment in my bag which it could stack on.

    so.. cat shoppers should ensure they have free slots in their inventory in order to actually buy items from players. If you're buying ultimate substance and wine mats... make 8 free slots so people wont have to make 8 separate transactions.

    well i cant sell herbs on my psy.... i chose a catshop and there is no name, it says P-57392043 (or whatever) then i go on my other caharcter and i can see the name of a catshop, name of a player, avatar and even sell things... i come back to my psy again, and i have same problem b:surrender

    Now, to answer your question, if you see a P-######## named shop or player then there was an error in the data transfer to you regarding that player. To fix that, you have to walk outside of their range, and then walk back into their range to get that data sent to you properly. Once that happens then you should be able to trade with them properly. This trick also fixes the problem you sometimes have in instances with "invisible" players.
