2x drops. Does it affect you?

HOWEVER, inflation can only be a good thing in a game with SOME static prices. You know, those NPC stuff. Mats for weapons or other equip (more drops, same requirement = easier to craft a weapon). So it can only be a good thing.
People who want to make money MORE or a lot off TT are the ones who would like others to NOT have the gear they have, because why would they buy it then right? Selfish pricks.
There are no static prices. No one buys anything from NPCs anymore except the occasional crazy stone shards, and teleports. And skills but it's one time only.

Don't forget that the skills do cost plenty of money. Before you hit 89 (or 80 in case you are getting TT80 gold and +5'd pieces with immacs etc.) the skills are the most expensive thing.100% F2P player. Started PW: March 2007, Quit PW: March 2011.

It's weird how higher end instance mats' (99+ mats) price don't change much.
I was able to buy raptures at 1.7 mil before the any 2x event but now some shops are buying at 1.7+mil.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Weird. Prices on HT have dropped, granted Raps are not as low as Sanc's 1.7 . Uncannies have dropped as well down to 500-550k from about 650-700k before the event.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Raptures only really drop on the last boss, with the glitch with the queen, some parties don't even make it to the last boss because they have to remake the party and hope that they dont get the queen unless they can use AD and triple spark through it. Also, there are a lot more lvl 100's now with hypers and everything so they can farm more. Probably why the price of uncannies are down now esp with the 2x event.PlumDumb - Heavens Tear wrote: ».anyways it gives the real players the opportunity to grind for some nice coin and buy the stuff they need..skills,tt..etc.I make a nice 300k+ on drops in less than a hour.b:chuckleshhhhhhh i have my cleric on another comp and i solo grind with him out the party so i can be healed and keep all my money and freakin expb:victoryALts RULE!!

lol.
I'm making millions farming 3-3 while you get a few extra thousand grinding DQ. lol
I'm against 2x, it trashes the economy and leaves the 7x-9x without a valid way to make money, but since it's on, I would be stupid not to take advantage of it.
I've only made about 20m in the last 2 days as I didn't start farming till day before yesterday really. One of my friends has already made 60m as of this time yesterday.
I'm sure glad I don't have to depend on the lower HHs to make money.

What do you mean by no static prices or one time only prices? What about Repair bills? Those are constant and on top of it INDEXED, the more you play the more you pay...
Back to the OP's question, three molds and an almost-complete set of 3* armor with great random stats in 10 fb/bh instance runs is good enough for me.0 -

Inflation is the gradual rise in prices over time. You're saying that as long as incomes are rising proportionately to inflation, there should be no problem. However, how do you propose on increasing everyone's income so that it matches the rate of inflation? Following your previous thoughts on various other threads, you might say to introduce coin generators such as coin dailies. But what does this achieve?
Higher incomes that's for sure. Higher incomes lead to higher demand. Higher demand leads to higher prices. Of course, you can purchase more goods that are static in prices. But the vast majority of the goods are not. Therefore, their prices are going to rise - inflation. You're going to introduce more coin to offset the inflation. Cycle repeats, money loses its value, and the people move to something else as currency.
As you can see, the store of value is severely damaged. To be classified as money, the value of the currency has to remain relatively stable overtime. You should be able to store the money in a bank without its value having fallen or risen a couple thousand percent the next day.
Simply put:
I wouldn't want to hold onto 10k if I know tomorrow it's going to be equivalent to 1k.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Static price items:
-Potions (mana and life, not the food-type ones)
-Repairs
-Shards for CS, altho most people like me don't bother doing it after 81, you can put 76k on the bank each day and buy hypers for a WAY higher gain on a FC run or stuff like that
All other stuff are variable prices, a clear example i'm going to use as my explanation are tokens, when packs are aviliable, tokens drop to 10-12k on dreamweaver, when they are not, they rise from 15-20k, never surpassing 22k, however since recently PWI decided packs need to be a semi-permanent item in the boutique (they've been around for almost 3 months, with only the equivalent of 1 month between all of them) tokens rarely surpass 13k for sale price, now the lower levels say "that's fine, i can afford tokens and i can afford better stuff"
However, the mid to high levels such as myself have much more trouble selling our stuff, since tokens can be used to make virtually anything, and with them being so cheap, we cannot compete, also if we try to speculate on the token market, we're plummeted to the ground, because tokens simply keep flowing and they never reach a decent price to make up for the time and effort required to get them
Now i will explain why this relates to the topic, with so much 2x all going on, prices on stuff like TT materials suddenly drops, and because the 2x events are so close one to the other, the market does not have enough time to return to it's original state before it's flooded with more merchandise, the more offer, the less demand, the less cash we get for our drops, moreover, many people had mats they got BEFORE 2x all, yet they have to sell them at a low price because of the 2x all flooding the market with competitors that get twice the income they do, this is basically the same as tokens, a lot of offer, lower demand, lower prices, people having a WAY harder time to get any money on their pockets, repairs ain't free, and neither are pots
Now the only "NPCable" items that yielded a decent profit were DQ mats, that suddenly got nerfed with a -20% NPC sell price, making it harder for us to keep up with hardcore cash players
As a conclusion i can say:
-I DO like 2x all events
-I DO notice a BIG HUGE change to the market, negative change since it plummets selling prices for everything, making it hard as hell to have a profit if you're not a cash player
-I DO NOT like them to be so often, PWI could as well just double all and make 4x events
-I would like them, in the future to be both more apart from each other and last shorter, 2 weeks is just way too much, and it has been like little more than a month since the last 2x all, keep them special, not just like "oh, ANOTHER 2x all event, sigh..."Originally Posted by frankieraye: To say that would be a lie, because in regards to the DQ problem, it's something that we're honestly still working on, and something that we believe we can fix.

i like to make my stuff with sweating not with catshopping like a dumb. so right now i run tt 2-2, 2-3 and 3-1 like crazy to acquire all the mats for my tt 90 green armors and i enjoy it. its easy to share mats for all the people in squad and if they want to sell them for good price well they just have to wait the end of the event.
Stop QQing about the prices. You are not happy then wait for the end of x2 .
Right now i enjoy it and thats all .0 -
I love the 2x drops. I wish it was permanent, lol. It makes up for the DQ nerf. I was grinding for a while today, and when I sold the loot, I ended up with 900k in my pocket. b:thanks It helps a lot, because I've been saving up for d orbs to upgrade my weapon.◄ Alt for posting. | PVE Sage Archer and happy with it.0

Anyone notice that gold price is higher this pack sale than last one? I remember last pack sale, the buy price for gold was like 385k-ish. Can't remember exactly...

Silly me during one of the very first rounds of x2 bought up many then-considered "cheap" TT90 mats, intending to resell them once the event ended and the prices restabilised.
Ever since then, each time the prices rise a bit there has been another x2. I still have quite a few GBAs rotting away in my bank, that I'd rather not sell at a loss.
So yes, it does effect me, but that's just the way it goes. Since it took about a year for PWI to instigate a single 2x drop event, I predicted that they wouldn't be NEARLY as common as they have become nowadays. My mistake b:surrender0 -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunk_costs#Description
A friend of mine encountered the same situation with a manager at a laptop company. The manager had committed to producing 10,000 Intel 286 laptops. Unfortunately Intel released the 386 soon after, and sales of the 286 laptops floundered. My friend argued that they should sell the 286 laptops in their inventory for less than what it cost to make them (about $1200), so they could at least recoup some of their sunk costs.
The manager however insisted on pricing the laptops at slightly above what it cost to make them, meaning that very few sold (the 386 laptops were cheaper). AFAIK, they still have those 286 laptops in their inventory. Probably worth about $5 apiece now to a parts recycler. If you assume they still had 9000 in stock, they took a loss of 9000*(1200-5) = $10.755 million. If they had taken my friend's advice and sold them at a loss for, say, $800, they would have only taken a loss of 9000*(1200-800) = $3.6 million.0 -
I love double drops when i see loads of items drop, even mats or items i can use. I like it a bit less when i have to sell the leftovers. But since more items drop, i can sell more for less. So i like it, as long there are still buyers. This is my signature. It is my sin in stealth mode.0

How can you even sell at a lost? You farm those mats, and with the event pots your coin cost should be around the 5-digits at the most. Or are you expecting them to sell for 3-4 mil like over a year ago when only 5 people can farm 3-1 and only 1 guy can open?1. If I kill you; do something about it yourself, don't go complaining to my wife.
2. If you have less kill counts then me, don't expect me to take pk advice from you.
3. If you are hiding behind an alt, don't expect me to acknowledge your existence.
