Hello there! b:shy I just started my first Perfect World character yesterday. I am trying to build a Cleric...

... and I forgot to learn skills until now.
I've been increasing my stats as instructed, but I did not go to the Cleric Trainer to learn skills until level 8.
I now have a level 2 Plume Shot and a level 2 Blessings of the Pure Hearted... and 2,362 spirit points.

The option to increase the levels of other skills is not there. (All I can do is learn Whirlwind, which I heard isn't all too useful?)

Will I be unable to "catch up" to other Clerics at my level? Should I just create a new character? b:worried

Thank you for your help!

EDIT:
Right now my character stats are:
Level 8
Magic 33
Vitality 10 (<~ Trying to increase "survivability")
Strength 9
Dexterity 5 (<~ Default I believe?)

You're fine, some skills just need requisite skills to be able to learn them. Also you might not be the level you need to learn skills, go back to the skill person and see if you can learn ironheart blessing. You should be able to if you have enough spirit and money, if not then something is wrong. Whirlwind aka Great Cyclone is not a waste, it's a great skill for kiting and it will make you a pro metal mage =o.

I don't see anything glaringly wrong with your character, don't worry so much. However, you should stop leveling Blessing of the Purehearted and instead level Ironheart Blessing, which is the main heal used throughout the game. Like Penut said, Whirlwind is also one of the cleric's main skills and should be leveled as often as possible, along with Ironheart Blessing and Plume Shot.

Plume Shot and Whirlwind are your key attacks spells. Always try to maximize them every time you can.

Also, as Aadi said, leave Blessing of The Purehearted aside and focus on Ironehart Blessing and Wellspring Surge, wich will be the healing spells you're be using frequenly while going squaded or alone.

Buffs (Vanguard Spirit, Magic Shell, Celestial Guardian's Seal and Spirit's Gift) are also a must. They will incerase your survivality by strengthening your physical and magic resistance and imrpove your magic output, making you deal more damage and cast stronger heals.

By the way, about spirit you may want to keep your lv around 4x so you can save lots of spirit from bh 29.

An interesting thing about that: the name of the skill is "Cyclone"... but during channeling, it says "Whirlwind." Guess that makes it both. b:chuckle

Blessing of the Purehearted is way too slow a heal to be any good, and not very mp efficient at that. You want Ironheart Blessing, and MAYBE Wellspring Surge, if you've got the spare Spirit.

Oh, and Thunderball is a take-or-leave skill. I don't use it, but some people find it comes in handy for bosses. b:surrender

Also is useful on assassins. Thunderball keeps hittin them if they go invisble.
