Since I haven't seen this mentioned before, and the fashion patch didn't fix it:

White sometimes appearing, just one frame of it, covering seemingly the whole screen, though some people who also suffer from it say it's just a square for them.

Doesn't seem to be repeatably caused by anything - but I see it whilst grinding.

    huh? no clue what you're talking about unless it's this:

    I've seen a glitch in the game i saw when i came back to the game like 5 months ago or w/e. I never saw it b4 last year unless i didn't notice. But some of the grass around Orchid temple (there's a spot just south of it and somewhat east of Secret Passage) is a white square (the actual grass sticking up not the "grassy terrain"). Go in the UI on the first tab and turn grass/flowers all the way down and it goes away. If that's what u mean, nothing u can do till they fix it. I've got a GeForce 7600 GS Nvidia card btw. post your card might help. They might've done a patch that fudged up grass on some cards...

    I've gotten the white, as well, but only occasionally. For me, it's mostly in Room 1 in the Cube of Fate (yesterday), though I did see it once, briefly, while flying to 1k Streams this morning. My two friends also saw it pretty heavily in Room 1 yesterday.

    I'm currently sitting in Room 1 right now, and haven't seen it. Dunno. =/

    I also have had this flash of white and so has a friend of mine. Mostly noticed it doing bh 100 in abaddon but have seen it in other areas also. Almost like a strobe light or a flashbulb going off for me. Very irritating on the eyes.

    Yes, its happening to me too now... thought my gfx card was overheating.

    Sometimes only part of the screen flashes white, sometimes most of the screen.

    No idea what it is - although it only happens in very populated areas.

    Also I think it happens most on lowest settings.

    okey i was standing in whesttone keep and was by the merchant and it looked it was lighting for like 3 seconds like the top of the screen started flashing white

    It doesn't happen on lowest settings for me, nor in highly populated areas.

    That being said, I haven't experienced this white blindy-flashyness since this morning, before I posted.

    On occasion for me, the entire landscape in and around Archosaur will white out. No trees, no grass. Just mobs on white ground.

    I had this too yesterday - white flash over top half of the screen, looks like lightning. It happened quite often, almost regularly, every 2 minutes or so.

    I was near sanctuary, grinding. Actually thought my notebook had developed a problem. Now I suspect the last update.

    Same, its like spiltsecond my screen goes all white, pretty irritating b:shocked
    Its like in older movies, you know when pictures didnt fit with each other and they used a white flash to blend it over >< Just a bit too long so the viewer sees it, very annyoing.

    Happened to me while grinding and preferably while at South arch AH lol

    I noticed this too, expecially in my earlier levels. It happens a lot when a snowflake in the area up north, falls very close in front of the camera. So it's not the screen flashing white, it's actually just displaying that snow flake up very close. The cherry blossoms around Sanctuary do can do this as well, and any spot that has small floating debris.

    When I read your post, this is what immediatly came to mind for me, but you problem might be different, as I've never experienced that before anywhere else.

    This white-flashing-for-a-second/lightning thing seems to be happening to quite a few of my friends while doing cube and BH99

    I usually get a movement glitch (about daily) that requires computer reboot to fix. Hasn't happened since the white flashing. Worthwhile trade off for me.

    Same as Perikita I had the white flashes on the top half of my screen. It happened every few minutes whilst I was in BH51 a couple of nights ago, it's been OK everywhere else though.

    okay i just got a couple at the entrance of 69 and my eyes got that needle sharp like pain x.x , and my setting were all the way down .. cept textures *fixes*.

    make it go away >:(!

    This definitely isn't what we're talking about. XD That covers most, if not all, of the screen, and, it makes sense, since in those areas, as you said, it's snowing or petals are floating around.

    With this issue, though, not only does it occur where snow/petals do not fall (Cube, fb/bh51, TT, etc), but it generally (from what I've experienced) does not cover the whole screen - more like 1/4 to 1/2 of the screen. And it's more like a broken bar of white, not a blotch or screen-covering white.

    Yes.. i've been getting this also since that last patch... i just thought it was my video card starting to go.. or I was seeing things b:shocked

    For me.. its like a flash... like.. when u catch something out of the corner of your eye.. its very fast...

    Hmm...I noticed this white flash today while I was looking through AH in Arch. At first I thought it was a fairy/genie going by really quick, but it wasn't. I hope this won't happen very often. b:shocked

    First time I read this thread I had no idea what anybody was talking about.

    I then attempted to solo my BH59 on my veno and Qianji's valley - at the beginning with the waterfalls - was a disaster. Constant flashes all over the place, on the top 1/4 or 1/2 of my screen. They were regular enough to hurt my eyes and disrupt my play - it was more than annoying. I also then, later, had one flash while in Archosaur, around centre Arch with the four dragons and streams of water running down them.

    Seems that I get them when there's a lot of falling water in the area, as that's the only times I've experienced them. I also don't get them on lowest settings but I refuse to play this game on lowest settings because of some flashes that are a server-side fault.

    Didn't have a problem before (although some faction friends reported it was happening to them), but today when I was setting up a shop in south Arch it started flashing white. Hope it doesn't happen when I am actually playing...

    Had it happen in TW and after TW in Plume today. It killed me (literally) in TW. I didn't see the archer coming.

    My mom started having this problem as well. She also recently just got a brand new computer. I've tried everything to stop it. I would suggest maybe it was a conflict with the new computer and the game, but she bought the exact same computer I just got a month ago; and I've not had the problem... yet.

    If it is conditional to the area? I had her put the game on the lowest possible settings just to make sure it wasn't that and it still does it. Not constant but every once in awhile. I hope they fix it as it would be very annoying for anyone.

    But no, you aren't alone.

    EDIT: I also thought it might be the refresh rate of her monitor vs the speed of things happening in the game.. but again.. I have the same computer and I've not noticed the issue. Perhaps its localized to certain areas of the game.

    I reboot my PC today and had to do the fashion update, i noticed the white flashing soon as i logged in happened a few times in brimstone / immo camp and over in sanctuary,
    I run lowest settings

    I thought my computer was having issues i am glad to see its just the game b:surrender
