Killing rare pets on purpose

On Sanctuary some high level venos go regularly to tame rares. If they find lower levels at the same place/time, they kill the rare pet, and I think they do it on purpose. Why should a high-level player attack the Shaodu Cub with Eldergoth Sharpshooter?
That way they prevent the others from taming - rude play, what would you say? That is done on regular basis. I suppose it's a way of keeping the 'market place' for the eggs of the rares. My personal opinion is such players should receive a warn, if not something more.
GM's, anything you can do? If you don't believe me, come at the time at the spawning places of piggy and shaodu. Names of these:

    If they weren't meant to be killed, they wouldn't have drops. b:chuckle

    It's market control. It's not fair, but it makes sense. The less you have on market, the higher the price raise.
    So, as soon as some veno has enough of them stored, she starts killing them so that people buy her ones instead of other ones'. And more often, some of her friend kill them at one spot while she is taming (with a great success rate, or kills it otherwise) at the other spot.

    And since it is frustrating for other venos, some start doing the same (as a kind of vendetta) so that no one gets one eventually....

    My advice : wait a few month, things won't last that long. People tend to get tired of such behaviors.

    Yeah, it defeinitely is rude and selfish, but...they are mobs. There's nothing technically wrong with them killing them. *shrugs* It just sucks for those of us who simply want one as a pet.

    What should the GMs do? Ban them because they killed a mob?
    Also, I'd remove the player name from that posting. Naming & shaming is forbidden here.

    You sure they are not just trying to damage it to low HP level to tame it? You won't tame a fully healed rare pet; someone has to hit it.

    But I know that some people just do it for fun and to annoy venos.

    Messing with the other people and preventing them from play is also forbidden.
    So, a herc veno just visiting to kill the rare pet is nothing wrong, she is playing.
    While we the whimps who cannot get elite pet from the cash shop - we don't have the right
    to tame even one rare in the game - that is pretty normal?b:angry

    I that case I do not complain, I ask for justice - that is higher levels abusing lower levels, and abusing the game rules. Every veno knows how to tame, hurt but not kill. So, naming & shaming is forbidden - but that tread is not for shaming, it is for the GM's - if there is someone to pay attention what I am asking.

    Happens a lot, and like other people said, it sucks for us who just want to tame. And yes, its just to keep the market in their favour. Its also been happening for forever, and nothings been changed yet.

    Also I'd remove the name from there... naming and shaming isn't allowed under any circumstances, even if stopping other people from playing is also not allowed... I see your point with that, doesn't stop both things being bad. Oh and not having a rare pet doesn't really stop you from playing, maybe stops your experience from being so good, but you can still play.

    I'm not trying to be unsympathetic here, I've had this done to me a couple of times, but I'm just stating the way it is.

    It's not only "higher levels abusing the lower levels"...the lower levels can just as easily kill the pet if they want to, and it has happened. Sometimes, the killing (by higher or lower levels) is just an accident (as was said by another poster). It's not preventing you from doing anything necessay to playing the game, so complaining about it, hoping to get someone banned isn't going to work.

    Well, eitherway, it's not just high level venos who do that, I've seen Shaodu Cubs being killed by other classes little before the waiting venos could do anything. b:angry

    I did that once on my cleric and killed a Shadou Cub. But that's because I didn't know better.

    Well I'd like to start off by saying I am not in regi. Also next time you are there notice I use a lvl 40 puppy who I have on hault to DD the hp down. So before you start making me sound pure evil get your facts straight. My puppy is always at my side (name is Aqui) so put some effort into getting the facts right before you accuse me of killing spawns. ok Thx.

    Were you not the one using a sharpshooter at the cub near the stone wall, about a year to a year and a half ago? I kind of remember your name, or was it someone else.

    All these cycle can be changed if enough number of rage people coming to tame pet or kill pet . .
    Until it so crowded that you can't see the pet . . b:laugh
    And other crazy idea is . . buy every rare pets you see then throw them away somewhere far far away until none left . . then proceed to kill every rare pet sighted . .
    if needed make a faction that dedicated to kill rare pet . . so no one can own or sell them.
    Its time to wipe them out from the market, people inventory, and pet bag.

    I am also joining the waiting party for rare pet before . . and join that party once was enough for me to realize it kinda pointless if you not trying so hard to gather everything needed to capture the rare pet faster.

    Which these day we also have rare pet killer . . they also seem to do everything they can to kill the rare pet . .
    expect there 2 kind of them, those who do it for more money and those who do it in the name of justice, or just plain bored.

    No I have never used a big monkey for taming. Sorry but you have me confused with someone else. I have used kittens and Puppy's and herc at kowlin, never used a big monkey. Also I just started going to cub 3 weeks ago.

    Killing mobs doesn't fall under this category or else PKing would fall under the same set of rules as it prevents players from playing. Actually PKing would do that more than just a mob being killed.

    Dream veno cant be the one who is using the monkey, cos i was the one using it, LOL and erm when i went taming last, the person who got the pet was a low level player and no it dint die and no one was killing it LOL. As i remember it, all the high lvl fail tame. Thanks to the monkey, the low level veno was able to get it on sanctuary. b:laughb:chuckle

    info : but erm i dont always go tame. There are other veno who use the same pet.
