What exactly is the difference between 3*(star), Legendary items and Holly Hall items. Legendary items have one Gold star and glow Gold, but why would I invest in a Mold when it will only give me one star item when I can easily manufacture 3 star item but glow purple.

So how is 3 star manufactured armor different from a Legendary armor, can you plz explain this using an example. What unique attributes they each give so that they are considered Best or Unique. Stats, attributes benefits etc.

Cause you don't equip weapons for the looks, but for the power?

1 gold star is usually better than 3 purple ones (depending on the mold, or TT thing)

Some molded weapons suck, some gold TT weapons are less good, sometimes 3star normal gear can be truely awesome, but overal, molded and TT is better. TT gold simply rocks

Is there a difference between 3* item or a refined item described as 3+ item, and gain the same attributes/benefits that you would get from a Legendary.

What is the correct usage Mold, Mould, Moulder because these words seem to be used synonymously. Fbs & DQs only way to acquire these Molds, or to buy them. No other way or no Mob that can drop them.

Can you make good money selling 3* or Legendary items, do they sell well especially at higher levels. Are they easily attainable or relatively rare, hence profitable.

First of all, its Twilight Temple, not Holy Hall - since this is PWI.

Secondly, all the stats and add-ons on all the items can be found on www.pwdatabase.com

Thirdly, its not about glow or the amount of stars. 3* items are usually worse than the mold/TT items in base stats and add-ons. They also usually come with a lower grade, meaning refines will be worse than that of a mold/TT item.

Because the add-ons on 3* are random, its possible to get lucky and have a 3* drop (or made) which is superior to its same level mold/TT counterpart - especially since *good* stats can appear more than once on one item (I have seen a 3* helm with 6% phys damage reduction - 2% x3. Or a -9% channel ring).

But due to the combination of the number of add-ons (both useful and completely useless), the fact that the better the add-on, the less likely it will appear and very low chance of getting 3 of those good attributes, 3* which are better than mold/TT items are extremely rare.

So people just stick to the mold/TT items which are greater in supply and nearly always better.

There is a 4th class too - the red 1 star items. They are usually far superior than 3*/mold/TT, but sometimes even they have terrible stats (e.g. veno rank 8 weapon).

Molds are rare, so expencive (if the good ones). But also hard to get (they drop rarely from FB bosses)

3star items can have all possible attributes, they are just npc gear like 1star and 2star items, with abit higher stats and 3 addons (can even be +accuracy on a mag weapon or so).

About the +3 thing, refining has nothing to do with a type of weapon. refining is something you can do at the elders, at the cost of mirage celstones. It increases the stats of a gear (weapon gets extra attack, armor gets +hp, phys ornaments get extra phys def). It's verry expencive, but can yield extremly nice bonuses

Because the stats are better. More stars only equals better stats when it's for the same weapon. A one gold star weapon is usually (but not always) better than a three purple star weapon.

Also, I wouldn't say you could "easily" manufacture a purple three star item, since they have a 10% chance of appearing when manufactured.

Three star item add-ons are totally random, while legendary item add-ons are usually more-or-less fixed. Also, like I said above the legendary stats are usually a bit better.

    Here's a quick comparison:
    Type | Level | PDef | MDef | Add-ons
    --------+-------+------+------+------------------------------------
    Mold | 77 | 150 | 1350 | MP +170, MP Recovery +4, Mag +4-5
    --------+-------+------+------+------------------------------------
    3 Star | 80 | 140 | 1255 | 2-3 random add-ons
    --------+-------+------+------+------------------------------------
    TTGreen | 80 | 155 | 1390 | Metal Def +298, Mag +5-6, PDmg -1%
    --------+-------+------+------+------------------------------------
    TTGold | 80 | 155 | 1390 | HP +60, Vit +5-6, PDmg -1%

    Mold = ☆Steppenwolf Lord's Cape
    3 Star = ☆☆☆Robe of Amethyst
    TTGreen = ☆Robe of Intangibility
TTGold = ☆Robe of Spirit Eater

Note that the mold is actually 3 levels lower than the other three items, yet has almost the same PDef and MDef as the level 80 TT armors.

Which of those is "best"? It depends on which add-ons best suit your character. For example, if you blow through MP like crazy, the mold is probably the best in that case. If you get killed a lot, the TTGold might be best. But then again, the random add-ons for a 3 star could come up lucky, and be even better than any of the others above.

Yes, there's a difference. A three star is a type of item, a +3 refinement is an improvement made to an item made by refining it. The type of improvement you get when refining depends on the type of item. Refining armor, for example, adds HP bonuses to the armor. So, no, it wouldn't gain the same attributes as a legendary item.

"Mold" is the correct terminology, since that is the only term used in the game.

This is false. Almost all mobs can drop molds, but it is a vanishingly tiny chance. To pick a random example, the Antelope Pup has a 0.6138% of dropping and additional item, and there is a 0.0028% chance that the item will be a mold. In other words, there is an approximately 1 in 58,186 chance that any Antelope Pup will drop a mold when killed. Good luck with that! ;-)

Also, you can collect Mysterious Chips several ways, and then turn them in at the Mysterious Merchant, along with some number of coins, to manufacture a mold. You could also trade in Dragon Orders at the Dragon Herald for various molds. There are a few other ways as well.

They generally sell better at higher levels, but for the three star items it depends a lot on the add-ons and whether it has a full set of magic defenses. The rarer they are, the better they sell, usually.

Take a look at your Auction House to see examples.

Note that there's a difference between a hollow star (☆) and a filled star (★).

For the most part, items of a given level increase in their base stats as follows:
    ☆ < < ☆☆ < ☆☆☆ < or < ★★

    ☆ ,, ☆☆ , and ☆☆☆ can all be crafted.
is exclusively used by instance equipment, such as Twilight Temple, Frostcovered City, and Lunar Glade equipment.
is mostly mold equipment or higher-level instance equipment.
★★ is pretty much limited to endgame equipment. I believe only Rank 6 Sage weapons, TT100, Nirvana, and Warsouls are available as ★★.

However, often the additional properties of a given piece of equipment can make it superior to something of a higher "star" grade.

You forgot about ☆☆ items. Yes you can get white 2*. The difference between blue & white is whether or not it has adds. A white ☆☆ would have same defenses as a ☆☆ but have no special added blue stats.

Pritty sure not, 2star has always 1 add on, 3star always 2 addons.
Atleast never seen a white 2star

You're right, my bad. It's been so long since I've gone and made stuff that I'd forgotten about those.

I've gotten white 2*, both in crafting and as drops. They're rare, so its probably a probability thing, where chance of adds is higher on 2*. But white 2* do exist.
