4 vs 3 dex per lvl - the numbers

Hello everyone!

So I decided to run some numbers on what is the difference is for attack between going pure vs doing something else.

I equipped 2 misty rings and took the gold TT 90 daggers stats for comparison. this comparison is at +5 (assuming that daggers refine for the same amount as fists do)

this is lvl 90 with 287 dex (TT 90 daggers use 272) - or 3dex per lvl
2733-3417 and Crit: 15%

Same thing with 360 dex - or 4 dex per lvl
3189-3988 and Crit: 19%


Difference? 4 dex gives you a extra:
456-571 and 5% crit

Its up to you what do do with this...
you can go pure or you can get a extra 1300 hp- or you can try for HA your options.

Personally I have been going pure dex not even thinking about it much. But to see at decent refines and lvl 90 the difference is only 500 dmg per attack (125 in PvP and then resistances) I may re-think my plan.

A few other things to consiter: When you spark it just adds more weapon damage so it will add the same amount regardless of what build you choose. Also most of our skills add large fixed damage and 100% of weapon damage to our base. So if your skill spamming or spark spamming the bonus 500 damage becomes much less of a % then if your just normal mellaying.

Just for compairson a BM useing lvl 90 fists going max str with a similar setup has a attack of: 2519-3040

Note: the 5% crit is a big bonus from pure. Also my experience comes from playing a caster where if i see Mattack at less then 6k i think something fails, so i may have a bias regarding the difference.

    4% crit is rather significant...especially if you want to consider damage difference when critting more often under chill. difference in damage is also more apparent when you refine higher.

    to give you some perspective though, the difference in base damage between equipping for example, 2 lunar attack rings and only 1 attack ring is about 500 base damage at 9x assuming pure dex build. (you get more dex multiplier with more weapon damage) would you skimp on a ring because you belittle 500 damage?

    i'd also like to point out that there are 6 pieces of equipment to refine and shard for hp, 4 ornaments for pdef/mdef, and 1 weapon to refine for damage. by 9x you should have anywhere between 6k-10k hp buffed depending on how well you worked on your gear - as pure dex.

    archers go full dex for the crit rate and rely on that crit rate to kill people at end game


    so please tell me how will sins be any different?

    It's a very tough decision as those crits work heavily in our favor. If you're pushing 20% crit rate you can just about expect it, though it won't be consistent and could be your downfall a few times.

    I get lucky with friend of mine on occasion( 99 cleric ) and slip out a crit that actually does enough to knock past charm into a win. lvl 72 attacks hit him roughly 4-600 which is easily soaked, but the crits on lets say headhunt that do 2.8k w/o spark can make quite a dent.

    As far as adding in hp, that's really more play style oriented, varying on whether you're a run in nuke stealth out person or if you intend to be right in between a squad of 6 trying to break their lines, drop a target, and get out.

    I quite like my 3.2k hp with 1 piece of vit gear. It's not a lot, but I can keep my m.def and p.def at 50% even unbuffed and they have to go through 6.4k hp total to kill me (charm) vs pure dex with maybe 2.8k which is 5.6 on a charm. Little bits in HP can make a large diff when you're trying to make it to the next atk, but so can that drop speed of a pure dex user. You can have an extra 800hp to survive cooldowns with one, or an extra 1-200 dmg per shot and the chance to make that gain double with the other. Quite a dilemma b:surrender

    Even with 3 base vit I'm at 3445 HP @ Lv71, I don't really see the need for more HP right now... Maybe later on in the game, but for now I can kinda **** equal leveled people since we have so many target control skills... which mean more than your ability to take damage if charms aren't in play, and especially with this economy most people don't go around using charms at 7x.
    Wondering how much longer these **** packs are going to be around.

    Thx for the info. I've been concerned about this recently. I am choosing to go Pure Dex with the aid of either Citrine Gems for HP or seriously max out my Evasion with Amber Gems. Evasion is a great armor. I wonder how effective it is at super-high levels.

    u can easily get 1k of HP with refines or soulgems, but its much hard to get 5% of crit and 500 of atak.... b:victoryb:cute

    Since we are on the subject involving EVASION, I want to read some actual reports of Assassins with a very high EVASION and how it is going. I mean, what if at Lvl 60 you have 4 sockets in all armor with the BEST EVASION shards with other DEX bonus items and, of course, maxed out DEX...how will you do against a same-level mob? If you got 40% EVASION from it that would be pretty awesome in my opinion. Higher? Forgetaboudit. Actual reports please. I'm VERY interested.
