Currently i have a Intel(R) 82865G graphics controller and it runs the game pretty well on the low settings i just lag when i go into archosaur. Basically I want to purchase a graphics card that will run the games lighting effects and best water effect. At the moment i cannot even click those options to increase those. So what are the cheapest graphics cards i could buy to make those options available. Does not matter how old the card is as long as i can run those options with little or no lag. i have seen these in stores EVGA e-GeForce 8400 GS and MSI nVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS if either could get the results i want please let me know

I don't know about minimum, but my HD 3850 does very well. The closest available now is a HD4670 for about $80. As for Archosaur, that is between you and your internet connection It takes a while for the server to tell your machine where everyone is, what they are wearing, what the shops are selling, and so on. Minimising your graphics before you enter arch (Ctrl f9) toggles everything between minimum and your normal graphics. This includes the radius of the circle around you that you recieve information about. Your machine will not sit and wait to be told about all the people outside your radius.
I am not sure how the 8 stream processors on the 8400 Gs would stack up against the 640 stream processors on the ATI.
After double checking on what is available now, the only $70 hd4670 units with 640 stream processors seem to have a rather high failure rate out of the box. There are oddles and oodles of reliable 320 stream processor units out there in the $70-80 range.0 -

I've been looking forward to get a new desktop, and have been looking for the perfect video card for it (without spending hundreds for something I won't be really using).
Check this video up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfT2n4JqSio
This person has a nVidia GeForce GTX 275, at max settings, a pretty "affordable" (just look at the new video cards... they are way more expensive X_x) purchase. I'm thinking on thetting the 280 one though.
