All I know is if you need more slots for you pet bag, you need to buy a cage from the boutique that costs 2 gold. give the cage to the pet skill trainer and she will give you more slots.

    For venos:
2nd slot, free when you finish the Sacred Beast quest and get the Tame Pet skill book.
3rd slot, 20 hay (mob drop) or a cage (boutique item
    4th slot, 50 fruit or a cage
    5th slot, 100 fungus or a cage
All subsequent slots require a cage (or you can shortcut the whole shooting match by buying a super cage to open up the full pet bag.)

    For non-venos:
2nd slot: 20 hay or cage
3rd slot: 50 fruit or cage
4th slot: 100 fungus or cage
5th slot: 100 ginseng or cage
All subsequent slots need a cage. (But you have to be pretty vain and rich to have that many useless baby pets.)

You can't hatch pets if you don't have enough pet bags.
For example: if you have 2 pet bags and they have 2 pets and you want to hatch a third one, you can't do that without having three pet bags.

Eh, you can get by on a few slots for a while.

Hay, of course, is most easily farmed from antelope pups. (And I say easily, but ouch it's harder these days)

    pwdatabase has a search function:

Antelope pups have a good drop rate for hay, but they're lvl 30 mobs. If you don't want to wait until then to get your 3rd pet I would suggest grinding on the longhorned carapests outside of Plume, nearish elf fb19. (just make sure you have the right carapest, there's two in close areas) They're lvl 19 mobs and the droprate for hay is fairly decent.

Yeah, finally there's some suggestions on the hay. It's funny how people start recommending cash items to someone obviously a new player, who might not even stay around for a long time.

I tend to agree with the Longhorned Carapest, although Rhinodrake Megalith are an excellent choice too. Either way, keep in mind that Hay isn't the most common drop, so you'll need a bit of patience.
Slow progress, game is getting way too grindy :-( Quests I still hope to be able to do some day: FB39, General Feng

I only suggested that because when I asked the same question, that's the answer I got. I had no idea about the Hay. b:surrender

Carapests will give you hay, but the wait is annoying. You'll get them more frequently from Rhinodrake Megaliths found outside of Archosaur. Don't wait too long to try to get hay because you'll get the most drops if you're at the level of the monster you're fighting.

Also be warned that if you do choose to purchase a cage or two, that you may loose the chance for the free pet bag slots. I did that, wanted to get my first few slots more quckly and purchased two cages. Then I finally got the fruit and fungus just to find out that I lost my chance.

So, words of wisdom for you are to suffer through and get the material requsted for the slots in game before choosing to get pet cages. I would have had the free slots and the few cages for a total of more slots. Instead I only had the extras that I got buy purchasing cages.

    there are 2 ways:
-do the pet skill trainer's quest or buy a super cage from the boutique
