Graphics card

Ok so the game recommended req. says Geforce4 3D Accelerator so i was looking on the best buy site and it says best selling graphics cards are PNY GeForce FX 5200 256MB PCI $34.99 and BFG NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS 512MB DDR2 PCI $59.99. I dont know much about graphics cards so what i am wondering is if the cheaper one can run the game on best quality with the bloom/lighting effect with little or no lag. Help much appreciatedb:victory

    First off, do NOT buy graphic cards from bestbuy. They are big rip offs. Also, both cards are pretty darn old. Which means, well, they are not very good.

    If you leave your budget, quality you want, and resolution of your monitor, Im sure someone will give you a recommendation.

    I dont want to spend over $60, not sure about the quality thing i just want to be able to play pw to its fullest, and monitor resolution 1024 X 768. Also is there a better store to go to than best buy because i dont want to buy online.

    Lloyd is correct here, Bestbuy does overcharge. Without knowing where you live its hard to recommend a store. Newegg is a good online store tho. Also we dont know what kind of motherboard you got or what type of video card it takes. Both the cards you listed are quite old however they will be able to play the game but the thing is you want it on max settings with high resolution. One thing about PWI is that it scales quite well but high is actually a bit demanding. I would take a good look through your local computer store to see what they have and i don't mean bestbuy or any of the big name stores. See if you can find something on sale. I will say however that at $60 what you are gonna get is not gonna be great. I recommend you increase your budget a smidgen and try to get

    You really need to know what your computer can handle or you can end up spending your money on something you can't use. If the computer is old enough, you might find yourself shopping on eBay to find a card that works. Honestly, most computers these days can handle this game. You might not even need a new video card.
