Can't learn genie skill..help

This might be a really noob question but I have searched the posts and can't find an answer.

I'm trying to get my genie to learn a new skill. Right now it has just the inital skill she came with. But when ever I go to the watcher there is never any skills for her to learn.

For example: the lvl 1 skill "explosion" says it needs 1 fire point. and it's learned at lvls 1,5,10,15, etc. I have put 1 affinity point in fire, my genie is lvl 10. But when i go into learn genie skill theres nothing there to learn. ??? what else do I need?

What am i missing, i'm sure it's something really simple, but I can't find any more info.

    You have to unequip your genie, and drag it into the box at the top of the Learn Genie Skills dialog.

    But before you do that, you might want to consider training her in one skill first...

    METAL

    FIRE b:angry

    WATER

    WOOD

    and something else...


    At beginning levels, there are 2 metal skills, 1 water skill, and 2 fire skills.
