What do players think of Polearm BMs?

Are they generally welcome in parties? I've only played Cleric and never had problems getting a party. But I just rolled a pole BM and I don't want to get kicked for not being a hammer BM. b:shocked

    People expect all BMs to be either axe, fist, or fist/axe.

    That said, most BH and/or TT squads will take you regardless of what weapon path you choose and if not then you probably don't want to be in the same squad as them anyway.

    I was wondering the same thing. I wanna roll a Pole Bm too but I don't wanna de left behind only cus I don't have Heaven's Flame. b:cry

    Can any high level Pole BM aswer me if Pole Bm's are welcome in parties just as any other BM?

    I don't wanna be like 99,999% of the Bm's, but that doesn't mean I wanna be the fat kid being piked last for Baseball either b:shocked

    Most people roll axes for AOE which a pole can do decently and stun in pvp. The only downside is that poles lack a bit of punch and range to their AOEs. However the the BM is generally safer due to the pushback. In pvp however the pole BM doesnt have many stuns to use, but it has range and bleeds which can take an arcane out easily from afar. However against HA it's a tad more difficult.

    As for heavens flame, yeah it's nice to have but I wouldn't kick a party member just because they don't have it.

    Axes+Fists are now the most popular choice because of the ability to crowd control and have good DPS. I started out as pole and later added axes then fists and loved it. There's not really a good reason to be different just for the sake of being different. When you need to AoE, axes will be the best and when you are fighting one target, fists will win. You'll have enough spirit to add the two paths later on in game (70's-80's) and it's highly recommended. But to start out, just being pole is fine.

    Don't worry about squads before RB and FCC at 85+. After that it's different.

    get axes for aoe in frost and heaven flame for pve, pvp and ur fine , use pole other time

    I've been using poles from the beginning and only recently added axes, honestly i've never had any problems in bh or tt parties.. pole are decent for both damage and aoes as long as you know how to use your skills. Well sometimes ppl are gonna ask you for HF (the dragon skill) but that's not the main reason why i added axes, it's just that multiple aoes and stuns can be useful in many situations.. plus using two weapons is fun :P Anyway it is true that axes skills are necessary for Rebirth and FC. So yea you can use poles as your only weapon for now but consider getting axes later on.
