Dance of Universe (95 level Poleblade / Lunar Glade):

Strength +16~17
Accuracy +30%
Berserker: Has a chance to inflict double damage at the cost of losing 5% HP.




Monarch Spear (99 level Pike / Twilight Temple):

HP +205
Accuracy +10%
Soul Shatter: Has a chance to dispel opponent's positive buffs.

    For me anyway (Im sure others will disagree) I use the Monarch.

    Debuffing a player counts more for me than zerking on a fully buffed player.

    Note: I only use the spear for its debuff, once that works I swap to Lunar claws or GX's (dependent on situation)

    Different roles mostly. 1 v 1 Dance will usually be better. But if someone Ironguards, barb uses Invoke, etc., you're better off using Monarch to try for a debuff. Or simply facing a high health barb.

    Rule of thumb: If you can kill it, use Dance to simply kill them through their buffs. If you can't, use Monarch to remove their protections and switch back to dance. Or weapon swap.

    Get both if you got the money; spam some spear skills with the Dance (sage Farstrike berserked :D) and auto-attack debuff with Monarch. Good with -interval, since you hit very fast.

    Get dance of the universe. To actually purge anyone with any sort of success rate you will have to use the other spear as your primary weapon...which your primary weapon is usually fists/claws...so this puts your spear in the place to use only when you use farstrike/meteor rush/glacial spike. In that case you want the best chance to spike the highest damage usually, hence berserk is better, because farstrike zerk crits are very very nice.

    The only reason I would use purge spear is if you cant kill the person fully buffed via fists/claws/other methods, and they have non self buffs which cannot be easily replaced on them. Like a barb running around with bell + cleric def buff, would be much easier to kill if purged, since he cannot replace either of those buffs.

    Like other people said, Monarch spear is definately nice but it's a support weapon, not one you use to kill. Getting both would probably be the best option. Zerk spear as your main weapon. If you feel you're at a disadvantage because of buffs then switch to debuff spear and try to get it to proc.


    And yeah if you have a monarch spear, try getting some interval gear and fists. Can stun, cyclone heel then switch to spear and start whacking. Works nicely with Roar and occult ice.
    Wondering how much longer these **** packs are going to be around.

    Both fool, just because they are the same weapon tree doesn't mean they work the same.

    Dance of universe is for farstrike, gs, meteor rush and pretty much everything else you do with a spear. Monarch spear is 100% to debuff someone who is too hard to kill for you or a party.

    Btw, with max interval, after 6 seconds of hitting someone with a monarch spear there is a ~43% chance they got debuffed at least once. If you are simply stun locking a target for your party sometimes it's better to attack with spear, not common but in certain scenarios it's better.

    I have a monarch spear to get rib of those anoying buffs that sometimes make players harder to kill.

    support weapon of corse then switch back to the main weapon FTW.

    removing full buffs its like taking 50% of the survivability of any fully buffed player xD.

    I wouldnt attack Amour when he was fully buffed before my lv 99 xD


    but If I were a pole arm BM I would carry the 2 of them xD.
