Should Duke's announcemets be brought back??

When the anni pack first came out, everyone was annoyed by Duke's constant announcement of who just won what, so he was silenced. Now it seems he only announces weddings. Would you like to see Duke re-announce pack winners? So maybe we can flood the winner with buy offers b:chuckle

    Wrong board, but I loved all of Duke's shouts (even the excessive ones during Annis), and would like for him to return.

    OH DB is right I love the new NO warning wraith attacks, In fact its freaking great to be able to stumble on one and call your buds. NO to Wraith attacks, just get a damn network of ppl to tell you where they are b:chuckle

    Did Duke ever shout for DT? I don't remember... I don't think CoA ever was, Tournament never was because that wasn't put in (and then taken out) until after the shouts stopped.

    Weddings never stopped.

    I didn't mind the announcements for wraith attacks, for a new day (because I don't make sure to check the little icon in the corner and hover over it) and for Dragon Temple, too.

    Herc/Nix I don't mind living with or without... but that's because my veno already got her Herc and since she's only around for farming purposes she'll probably never have a Nix anyway. Would have been cool to see my name pop up for my hard work of getting the coin together but eh, Duke was already muted.

    I don't want to hear Duke screaming about packs again. Honestly, I don't give a **** if you won something, because at this point winning something from a pack no longer makes you special. I understood it the first time, because it was new and cool and it was somewhat rare to win something. Until people bought in bulk.

    Now that we're having our third kind of pack released, we don't need Duke telling us yet another somebody won yet another plat charm. It's not special any more, it's not cool any more, nobody cares any more.

    If they could I would go for wraith / legion attack announcements if they could be limited to:
    • Appropriate level range or,
    • If you're in that area or adjacent area

    Because unfortunately otherwise the levels that they are aimed at get kill stealed and it becomes a fustrating experience.

    +1. Higher levels shouldn't be able to take part in the lower level wraith attacks period.

    How many wraith attacks have you been to... since November? I think I've been to... 3?

    How many did I go to before that? Dozens.

    What they should do is schedule simultaneous attacks in various areas.... high level, mid level, low level... So high levels wouldn't bother going to low level events if there was a somewhat level-appropriate event happening concurrently. If not, turn them on so more people can participate.

    I have been waiting so long for Duke to come back from his vacation, apparently he's not the one who's yelling out the weddings either, it's a system message, so he's just unemployed at the moment. Maybe GMs should raise his salary so he wanted to start working again. It's been really annoying as I had to announce that I got a Herc myself, also I've missed all the Snake Isle races and Wraith Attacks. So Duke, stop slacking and get back to work this instant! Just shut up about the packs, that's the only reason why people started hating you.

    I don't mind him announcing Wraith Attacks or weddings but to everything else absolutely NOT! That spamming spree was maddening! b:angry

    Not sure. Maybe around 3 like yourself.

    Had the same or more Legion attacks though. That is partly thanks to friends letting me know about them and spending more time in those areas due to my level, quests etc.

    Legion attacks at 1k Streams is crazy though especially if you're in the middle of the mobs getting attacked from all directions. b:faint

    Not sure simultaneous Wraith attacks would necessarily mean the higher levels stay away from the low to mid level attacks. Low to mid level attacks mean more kills and potential for a lot of drops even taking into account the drop rate reduction due to level difference.

    Having said that the difference in Wraith Attacks before and after the ceasing of announcements is stark.

    I was at one at Immolation Camp recently and more or less had my choice of what mob to kill. That would never have happened beforehand.

    Essentially my feeling regarding them is would be nice to have them being announced but I can live without it.

    Those things were awesome.

    Fighting over mobs like a bunch of jerkholes just to get a +rep item and 50k-100k worth of DQ items. Heck yeah, loved it.
