Hi. It seems like alot of people always assume that anyone who says they are female is lying. Whenever someone posts a picture of a pretty female, people would accuse them of fraud. I just wanted to see how everyone feels about this.

From an unbiased point of view, doesn't this seem a bit unfair? (I know life isn't fair lol BUT for the sake of argument, ignore that) Basically, you never have to prove you are a guy but if you are a girl everyone demands proof...

Female Character: Hi. Thanks for letting me join >insert guild name<
Gamer: No problem. Say, are you a girl?
Female Character: Yes.
Gamer: Okay. What's your facebook?
Female Character: Um... why should I tell you?
Gamer: You're a guy, aren't you?
Female Character: No...
Gamer: Mind hopping on vent?
Female Character: Yes I mind. I don't really want to talk to you...
Gamer: You're a guy. I knew it. If you were really a girl, you wouldn't be scared to hop on vent!

Obviously I exaggerated the fictional conversation, but this is pretty much what goes on. There are a few scenarios that can occur from the above conversation.

1. She gives in and goes on vent and guess what?! She's definetely a girl! Now what? Do you feel like you scored a chick? Do you feel like you got laid? Now that you are sure she is a girl you suddenly get all friendly and polite. Now what? Are you going to ask her out? Good luck with that, jerk.

2. She refuses to waste her time and energy to prove that she is what she says she is. What? Do you think she's looking for free items or something? She doesn't want your attention like that. She just wants to play the frickin game while still being addressed as the correct gender. Seriously, just call her a "she" if she says she is. She doesn't want your number.

3. Oh no! She's actually a guy!! You've been hitting on a guy!! Oh no!!! Okay. The fact that you were "hitting on" anyone in an online virtual world seems kinda pathetic. This is a game and most people just want FRIENDS yes FRIENDS. You can have friends that are girls. This isn't first grade where we are supposedly teeming with cooties.

4. She wants you. Bad. She's willing to meet you in real life sometime... But... she doesn't have a microphone. That means she can't pass your test. She can't prove it. Oopsies. Too bad so sad. You just missed out on a hookup!!

So in conclusion... why so much distrust? Look. If someone says they are female, address them accordingly and don't be rude. If you are gonna date someone via PW (LOL) I guess it would be logical to make sure that they are what they say they are, but otherwise DON"T ASSUME THEY WANT YOUR ATTENTION LIKE THAT.

Anyways, please post your thoughts and feeling about this. Also, I shouldn't have to say this but I know that there are alot of immature losers that will probably be rude so please be polite and respectful... duh!

    first of all, this is a virtual world with virtual characters and roles. a game. you never know who is at the other side of the keyboard and deceiving someone with text is a lot easier than face to face. so... considering this, isn't the gender talk an invitation to get in trouble?

    its not hard to figure if its a guy or a girl though :p

    manner of speech makes it quite obvious.

    though i have managed to fool ppl on a female char for umm.. 50 lvl's o.o;;;

    had to tell the truth when there were two guys fighting over me o.o;;;

    as for trusting a woman who calls herself one... course ... why not.. especially if shez making a forum topic on it just to prove it o.o;;; ( or QQ bout it )

    let em believe what they want.. its not like u wanna date em >:D

    I agree with you, in a way.
    I know what you mean. It's annoying when people think you are lying.
    Just ignore them. You don't have to prove anything. If they don't want to believe you, the problem isn't yours.

    I'm a girl, its a bit annoying that people think that your the opposite gender all the time.
    One person i know is a guy and plays a girl char, and nobody really cares, there is many people out there though who'll critisize the fact that a boy is playing a girl char.
    so what guys like girl ****, is that a problem?

    the only class u should be suspicious about is the venomancer because they're strong and only female class.

    Well, i feel the same way, and i'm a guy. I'm constantly getting hit on by other guys, or they assume im a girl, and i have to correct them. Theres another side to this you know.

    I tried a female cleric... It's VERY annoying to get whispers like at least once in 30 min and random friend requests.

    Well, no. And i think that if anyone would do that to me, i would just ignore them/blacklist them. Thats just crazy lol

    Also, what do you mean "darker"? u mean like characters that look pitch black XD, or just darker skinned characters, like brown and such? (my character is a light brown, idk if that has something to do with it also... XD)

    Like when I used to play in Harshlands (happened on Raging Tide and Archosaur too but not as much), people always asked for my facebook to "prove" I was a girl.

    Am I seriously going to give out my facebook to someone I don't even know? Of course not geez. I find that the guys who keep going on about how I'm not a girl are idiots for not accepting the fact. If they can't realize I'm a girl after hearing me on vent and everything, they're idiots b:chuckle

    And yeah.... I got asked out so much when I was trying out Archosaur LOL. I have screenshots if people want proof but I got asked out by so many guys xD It was too funny.

    But yeah, its super annoying how some guys won't accept the fact I'm a girl. To prove I was a girl a few times, I hopped onto vent and talked right? Usually people would accept it but some of the stubborn ones kept on saying I'm a guy and stuff and that I used a voice changer thing or whatever it is to make me sound "like a girl"

    Pathetic huh? Even worse is I have proof I am a girl since I did give out my number to quite a few people and talked to them on the phone.. and still those idiots won't believe me.

    Its so stupid!!! Why can't some guys accept there are girls in the game?! Geez they can look at barbies all they want all day if they want, they have no life <__<

    b:laugh Oh I said the number part wrong rofl hahaha. I usually give out my number to people I really trust and get to know in-game... So far let me think how many people in PWI know my number uhhh... 9-13? xD I usually give out facebook though and then block them after b:chuckle

    but yeah... i'm pretty sure that if i was a guy, I would have no clue what my favorite eye liner was LOL. omg i love eye liner :3 Not heavy of course o.o I like to use it lightly so I look awake.. Then I use a little light power at the corner of my eyes so I look awake.. Don't forget a little bit of foundation if I look a little too pale that day from lack of iron... Oh and it takes me forever to find the perfect shoes xD and omg i like purple eyeshadow :3 it looks nice on brown eyes :D did i even hit the part about dying my hair o.o
