Show timer on buffs?

Hi guys, this is something that's been haunting me since i played this MMO.
It's really annoying to be fighting mobs you know you can take with buffs and then randomly find yourself dead because your buffs ran out without you realising..
Show how much time the buffs have left!
I mean we've had it on all the MMOs available to us, why not in this one?
It should be pretty simple to implement in the game, so why not?
Anyone else agrees with this suggestion? Share your thoughts
*Update*
If the devs ever do get on with helping us make the game better, while they're getting the buffs fixed, they might aswell implement the suggestions above - as i'm sure we all would like the same aswell!

What about being able to see details on the buffs that other people in the squad have? Have you noticed this? When in a squad the only way to get the details is to click on the player so their face is in the top centre of your screen. Then you can see basic buff details. It would be nice, I think, to be able to scan the squad quickly to check buff status, especially for a cleric, rather than having to click on everyone and then examine the buffs individually.

I agree with the idea, it would remove a simple anxiety I have when in instances.
I'd also like the magic defence glitch to be fixed; I cast it once in squad buff say..and if i squad magic def buff again within 1 hour, the magic def buff disappears. Yet it doesnt happen to any other buffs.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
sig by the wonderful Forsakenx ;D0 -
it is not all that hard to pay attn to your buff(s) or even those of the squads b:shutup
not sure if this would get annoying or not. however, there is a program that someone did that is essentially a "buff timer."
See Here for Buff Timer[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
hmm this iz actually a pretty a good idea (i kno wut i'm talkenn about altho imma veno) i agree +1.. go for it![SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]Thankiez to Dorset for the sig!
MagicHamsta will remain in our hearts forever
P.S. I am a female venomancer ^^ I know it's rare, isn't it?0 -
Ah, thanks for your support guys and mulan for the share!
Although really, do we need a third party application for something so simple? (Game devs?)
If all else fails i'll have to use that application too.. I'm wary though, this being an MMO, so many users could take advantage and rogue key loggers into such programs..
We'd rather have it integrated in the game itself :O0 -
i agree with having it built into the game instead of something seperate
especially for us squishy clerics, my buffs keep me alive. i do notice quickly enough that im taking more dmg than usual, so i rebuff within a few minutes, but i hate to take the risk if there isn't another cleric around me.levl 8x cleric on ragingg tidee; Solae0 -

They won't even fix the mag. def. buff, so don't hold your breath.
Honestly, I'd think a GM confirming it's virus-free would be a good enough recommendation...[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

A buff timer would be pretty usefull, good idea.0

100% agree, the thing that bugs me about it is ....
i get buffed by cleric, i use life powder, and it seems like the life powder works (feels like hp regens a lot faster than cleric buff) but when it wears off, i don't know it .... cause i still see the thing from the weaker cleric buff.
a buff timer would be helpful in knowing when the life powders wear off.0 -
Thats a good suggestion! Would be really useful, if you could see how much time's left of the buff. Like in JD, BoI, etc.0

Thanks again for your replies guys, the more attention his thread gets, the more likely something will be done about it, so let your friends know about it to if you have it in you
@Aadi
From my MMO playing experience, i have learnt that it takes about 3 days to finish a simple application for a game/ program or whatever else, Yet it take less than a day to make a keylogger which uses methods that havn't been used before, so that any other virus scanner won't recognize it before it is reported. True that most methods are now well known and most conventional virus scanners will pick up on them, but there are sitll the smart coders out there who find ways to ilude the way the scans work.. The best virus scanner, is a human one - A programmer if you will, who can tell you (after seeing the source) if the program is genuine or has some worrying lines in the script.. Infact, most genuine programs come with the source and this one doesn't, that's another reason why i dont trust it lol.
---- Something to read if you're curious like me;
This is were i have to beg for another question.. I been reading about the pw'I' devs, and most people believe they aren't developers at all but rather representatives for us 'international' gamers.. So if this is true, how does this suggestion section work?
When a suggestion is made, can any of the GMs here actually do anything about it?
or Would you they have to contact the actual game devs and wait on them to agree to the idea, then integrate it, then send the patch so that the patch can be sent to us before doing anything about it?
The updates and patches are already being provided, so someone is surely capable of modifying the game, but is this coming form this games administration or from the one on the asian part?
I hope this does get a reply because it could answer alot of people's questions i think.. Many people seem upset that their pleas for something to be fixed isn't being addressed. Check out the Compilation thread on this section.. It's HUGE.. Is that a list of things to be done or things that have been fixed?
Thanks for reading,

I just saw this after posting on another thread something along the same lines. The relavent bit of the post was:While I am on the subject, another thing I would like to see is an indication on the buff of its effect and duration. [snip] If I hover my mouse over my icon, it would display the [effect details] and the time remaining. This way, I would be much better able to decide when it would be good to rebuff, rather than having buffs go out half-way through a big battle.
So yes, big thumbs up to the idea, but I think it should include the actual effect detail, not just "Increase Mana Regeneration" but something like "+10 MP/Sec for 8:45" and the time could even count down. At the very least the Level of the Buff shoud be included, so a player can see if they have the best buff available or not.

Thanks for the replies!
Any yes i agree entirely with you bosk - I has the same thing in mind, but i looked past mentioning it!

Keep your thoughts coming please people! Big = Gets Noticed!0 -
You are most welcome.
Another thought for you/the thread that is kind of realted: What about being able to see details on the buffs that other people in the squad have? Have you noticed this? It would be nice, I think, to be able to scan the squad quickly to check buff status, especially for a cleric, rather than having to click on everyone and then examine the buffs individually.
Just another thought.
