Howdy, me and my bro started playing this game a little time ago

my brother rolled a barbarian

im still trying to find a class that fits me

ive tried wizard and didnt like the mana consumption and squishyness(26lvl)

at the moment i have archer and its kinda cool (34lvl)

but im realy thinking maby i should rather roll a cleric

what class do you think would be best to roll with a barbarian and are clerics alrigh soloist?

I dont quest alot , mainly focus on grinding <--

so would cleric be better than archer?

any class sugesstions would be nice

off topic question- when two people party together , do they gain any xp /sp beneficials? is it equaly fast to gain xp killing monster alone or in a party of two ?

Yeah, the class that works best with a barb is the cleric, but I'm not sure if they would make good soloists since I've never played one. Veno is a good solo class that uses magic; BM for melee since they can aoe grind. It all depends on the kind of play style you prefer.

Well the best combo's with a barb are usually:

Veno (she can provide back-up tank, and help DD, along with give barb chi (<--skill))
BM (Heavy DD, while being able to hold their own in a fight.)
Cleric (Major healing, no need to DD much (unless you feel like it), and can keep tank alive the whole time)

the rest of the classes don't work out too well, because they'll either steal arggo, die quickly, etc.

Clerics are very good solo-ers. If you know how to play the class, you'll be able to solo practically everything but your FB portion of cultivation quests, and a few bosses. I'm 6x right now and I've practically soloed everything.

Clerics do pair very well with barbs and are a common pairing.. ie: in FBs, BHs. Mainly for bosses since its the tank&healer sort of deal. In normal questing and grinding they're a good pair, too. My hubby and I (barb&cleric) do our quests together. I heal him when he's about halfway down and he jumps in to help me kill stuff that gives me trouble (increased life, mag resist mobs). And clerics can DD pretty nicely, depending on the build. Like I'm pure mag and I kill mobs my level (6x) in about 3-5 hits, depending on the skills I use.

You'll have to try a cleric to be sure it's the right class for you. I think a cleric is hands-down the easiest class to play, since I suck at melee classes. But I've met lots of people with cleric alts who say clerics are a hard class to play because they're squishy.

well im usued to being a support class .. somewhat always end upp as one

played a few mmorpg . mu , lineage , wow , and some

and always ended up playing a healer

might aswell end as one here too

How are clerics for faction wars ,
and do they run out of mana all the time like wizzards !? <

    dont like downtimes :D

but lets not focus entierly on cleric , i want all ideas and classes , just that ive been thinking of cleric and i have a archer

Cleric's don't really have a "self-heal MP" skill, so they do require you to have a large amount of MP pots.

Yes cleric burn mp a lot but like all magical class in this game, so you ll have to buy pots but realy that s not a problem ( and i m far from being rich b:chuckle).
You can solo grind almost everything and even have fun take a whole map of poison mobs on yourself and kill them so easily.
About TW (Territory War) you might want to go in the later lvl, but you can already enjoy it at around 7X-8X +, a high lvl cleric can deal great damage and they are good support for the other (buff/heal/debuff etc).

Now about the other class veno are fun to play, they have a mp regen skill and the pet usualy take all the dmg for you, they are good at solo grinding too.

Psy are fun too, they have some nice skill and in the early lvl and even around 7X+ mobs usualy die before they even reach you. As cleric they use a lot of mp (actually i think they are worst than cleric for that, but that s just my opinion).

For the melee class idk never played one
    b:bye

Cleric + BM or Cleric + Archer are the two best combos late-game.

You would think Cleric + Barb = best, but barbs do so little damage that once you hit 9x, Cleric + BM can solo almost anything but world bosses.... actually there are a few WB that a sole veno + BM can do.

Also, archers make great tanks late-game as well.
I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.

Keep your archer for solo-playing purposes. Then make a cleric to play with your barb friend. :P

Clerics are more than capable of soloing, though. It's actually quite fun to play solo as a cleric. They can knock down mobs as fast as anyone else, sometimes faster. But the advantage of playing with a barb is that you'll always have both a tank and cleric ready to go for any instance (this will help you a lot in getting BH teams).

Yes, I'm still a stubborn holdout in favor of the old game. Haters gonna hate. ;]

    Other Active Characters:
LigerKing (Barb), Girasole (BM), Shamsheer (Sin), ArborSoul (Mystic).

    its all relative.

When you grind in squad, you get less xps per mob but your expenses are usually lower per mob and the chances of dying are very low too.

In a squad, the EXP is split between you and your squad members. It's also on a basis of higher level > lower level, so if you squad with a level 30 at, say, level 10, you'd get less experience than if you were squadding with another level 10.

But this is relevant to the fact your expenses are lessened in a squad and the mobs die faster. The principle is:

    - Solo, get all the EXP, spend half an hour doing a quest. Questing is longer and potentially more dangerous, so you get all the EXP at the end of it.
    - Squad, get less EXP than normal, but spend fifteen minutes doing that quest. Questing takes less time, so you can kill more monsters in a shorter period and your expenses are slightly less as is the probability of death.
