when you look at the genie's description, it will say something like "affinity for strength/vitality, (etc.)" What the heck does that mean? O.o'

    It makes more sense if you understand the genie skills.

    There are many genie skills, some are good, some are no good. Troll the forums to learn about skills.

    Before you choose to learn a skill - done at any 'watcher of the earth' you can first look at the skills' description.

    You will then notice that skills are improved by the addition of certain attributes. A popular genie skill is Extreme Poison, which, you can read youself, increases in activation time by putting more attributes in DEXTERITY.

    So with the skills, different benefits can be gained by having the attributes specifically allocated within the genie.

    Now look at the genies, each of the 4 different genies starts with 5 (or 3 I think?) attribute points in three of the areas, and for the fourth one, has 15 attribute points. So the describtion doesnt really mean that the genie can do anything by itself, only that there are extra attribute points for that particular attribute.

    So what might happen is you decide on your favourite skills before you get a new genie, and then you choose the genie that already has those extra attributes for the skill/s you like.

    I dont know if others do this, but it makes sense to me - I have different genies - a genie with extra strengh for those strength skills I like, and a genie with extra dexterity for those dexterity skills.

    I hope this helps a bit.

    Genies have 4 stats: str, dex, mag, vit

    Each genie has an affinity for one stat. It starts with 15 points in that stat. It starts with 3 points in the opposing stat. The other two stats it starts with 5 points. I believe str and vit are opposed, and dex and mag are opposed. So a str genie will start with 15 str, 3 vit, 5 dex, 5 mag.

    At low levels, this doesn't really matter. A mag genie starts with 15 mag, saving you from having to put 10 points into it. Whoop de doo.

    Where it starts to matter is when you put more than 40 points into one stat. The first 40 points into a stat costs 1 attribute point per stat point increase. Anything more than that costs 2 attribute points per stat point increase.

    So for example, a str genie will start with 5 mag. To raise it to 45 mag will cost you 40 attribute points. To raise it from 45 to 60 mag will cost you an additional 30 attribute points, for a total of 70 points spent.

    A mag genie will start with 15 mag. To raise it to 55 mag will cost you 40 attribute points. To raise it from 55 to 60 mag will cost you 10 attribute points, for a total of 50 points spent. (20 points fewer than the 10 point advantage it started with in mag compared to the str genie.)

    A dex genie will start with 3 mag. To raise it to 43 mag will cost you 40 attribute points. To raise it from 43 to 60 mag will cost you 34 attribute points, for a total of 74 points spent.

    So if you've already planned out your genie's skills and build, and know that you'll be adding more than 40 points into one stat, it can be advantageous to start off with a genie with an affinity in that stat.

    Red = str
    Green = dex
    White = vit
    Yellow = mag

    Affinity is associated with the elements as skill require them.
