Played one year on Malaysian server, now lvl 93 cleric on Dreamweaver.
Why do we still have that bug, when buffing ourself or others, not able to "overbuff" our m-def buffs.
All other buffs do fine.

Its really a shame PWI didnt fix this bug all this time I'm playing PW.
Please fix it now, people still getting killed because they lose M-def during dungeons, bosses, a cleric cant watch at m-def bars from all players all the time.

That issue with the magic defense buff is well over a year old. As frustrating as it can be, you're gonna have to learn to live with it.

You certainly have that option, Salay. I'm half-heartedly considering it myself. While new chat items and new wings and mounts can be nice, they lose their appeal once weighed against the numerous known glitches that are seemingly being ignored in favor for said trinkets.

Bumping a topic worth being repeated until GM's take notice. It is a tad ridiculous how long this bug has existed without being fixed : \

quoted for truth. while all the new cash shop items are great, they don't really compensate for all the bugs that ignored every maint. a bug that has been ignored a year + is really sad. i started looking at new games a few months ago and really started stepping it up with the new horns. you wouldn't ride a bike with a flat tire so why keep playing a broken game? ijs imo

Agreed. PWI should fix bugs first before releasing items in boutique and other useless craps. Look what happened to the horns.

Yay for another thread about something actually important disappearing with no official response at all! b:cry

So seriously, could we maybe get a little recognition on this issue? Maybe something like: Don't worry, it's working as intended: we'll look into it, but don't know what causes it: or perhaps we just don't feel it's worth wasting our time because it generates no profit?

Even bad responses are better than ignorance. You really shouldn't let our evil minds come to false conclusions without a least attempting to steer us in the right direction b:thanks

There have been several 'official responses' about this bug - all of which said, "The devs have been notified of this issue and are working on it."

First time I heard that response was about 8 months ago . . . Eventually I've no doubt that word will come back to the GMs to have them tell us "Oh that's how it's supposed to work. Just don't ask why it's different from the others please."

Yeh we always told that but they are never fixed, just like:
    • The bug where a nix can fight a mob without the mob fighting back - oh wait that's an exploit and bannable offence so maybe that's not important to fix.
    • The bug whereby a mob is immobilized (archer's Aim Low skill for one) but the stupid mob runs off and often into other mobs and the herc is left punching thin air where the mob should be.
    • Like the ability to stop the clapping hands in TT from clapping - hmm maybe they are supposed to be stopped who knows.
    • Like the bug which means u get kicked out of a GV instance completely instead of being kept inside so you can carry on.
    • Like the Hell and Heaven maps which aren't alt clickable and nav points show somewhere completely different to your destination.
    • Like the inability to restart Marriage Quests when one party disconnects instead the whole quest is trashed/lost.

Bah no point in going on... b:lipcurl b:lipcurl

"The devs have been notified of this issue and are working on it." Translates to "We don't know WTF to tell you, but we can't just walk away so here, chew on this for 45 seconds while I make my escape out the back door before you figure out the steak is rubber and come to eat my ankles."

The funny part is that this is a one-line fix. Somewhere there is a config file that has a flag that says if this buff can be over-buffed and that flag is set to false when it should be set to true.

Any competent programmer could fix this in less than a minute. If they had never seen the code before it would take maybe 3 minutes to find where to make the change.

As i seem to enjoy being the devil's advocate, here goes:

This bug really isnt that important. As a cleric I'm constantly looking at the squad window, and i notice if the mdef buff has gone down. Its as simple to fix as a 2 second buff.
Fix the rubberband glitch first please, that one has actually done some damage to me. b:shutup

Well, it may not be the most important bug in the game, but it is very annoying, and does affect gameplay. Having to watch the buff window/waste mana to recast what should be an hour long for everyone in squad from time of casting (unless ofc they die) is quite ****. Having this buff drop mid boss fight, especially if you happen to be using BB, can make a big differance.

Sadly it seems unless we get enough people to start complaining about issues like this, they will never be addressed (and possibly not even then).

I highly encourage anyone else annoyed by this or any other bug to post to the forums, keep bumping the threads, and submit tickets until we annoy them enough to at least attempt to fix it = )
