No offence or anything but i seriously wouldnt bother, there are to many factions and not enough players as it is, there is too much competition for factions able to help alot more and get alot of faction squads than you are able to atm.

My best advice would be to join another faction, learn how it all works, learn to play the game, learn about builds, FB's all the basic stuff so you can actually help your members with such things. Also, if you still want to make your own faction i recommend leaving your ambition till a later level, a much later level.

But to answer your question you just 1 person (leader) plus the 100k to start a faction and that faction will remain for aslong as it has a leader or destroyed via the faction supervisor.

    Skeln - Barbarian 4X (Rarely-Active)

thank you for the insite and the answer. I am already part of a faction and they are wonderful people. My point in starting one was to experience that part of the game. Not to get help or whatever. I have my frends for that.

And while we're at it, can faction leadership be passed to a char lower than 20?

Yup, i know of one person who would help a higher level faction on TWs, and would throw leadership to his level 14 barb while he took his cleric to the other faction.
