Why a psychic?
I choised to play a psychic and i really have a bad opinion about it. Psychics doesnt has many powers and are very boring for to play and to grown. They looks like the combination of a Wizars and an Archer , they are so weak and steals agrro so easely with bad consecuences. For that motive they are not calling for FB, BH and TT parties , much more preferable and Archer , even an Assasin. The lack of powers make s that there is not much options about the attack and efense and general battle strategy. The PWI designers doesnt pass enough time with this class, at least , Assasins has a great and cool look and they are great DD's. If i were the designer i should to consider to make another play option of Venomancers, the most unfair class in PWI. If Psychics are elementalist, well, create earth and water elementals that holds aggro from enemies like the Venomancer's pets do, compensating the weakness on this character.

I hated my psychic til about lvl 30 and now I think she's awesome. Just stick with it. Or reroll.0

when playing psy in FB/HH/ or any other instance where u don't want aggro they can raise their def lvl which will lower their attack and prob solve as far as stealing aggro. I'ts a really great class to play and I'm curious to see mines at 9x0

You shouldnt need to lower your attack to not steal aggro. Low attack is not the point of a damage dealer! :P Just space out your attacks, remember we hit very hard and very fast. On bosses start slowly with DOTs.
Psychic kind of sucks in the early levels but the second i hit 30 and started getting my skills levelled, it becomes a blast. I have absolutely no regrets in making her and I won't delete her for a bazillionSamsoul - fail psychic of Lost City!

psychics are awesome, mostly people are seeing the aggro stealing thing because the class is till being studied and understood.
the idea is to wear down your enemy that's why you "debuff them" when in a squad its not a matter of hitting hard. that's why its a team effort. your hit may not make large impact as the others but you are doing a large damage overtime and nobody knows. over 20,000 in a span of seconds.
use your aoe distant skills on bosses (sandburst blast, glacial shards, torrent, sand trap and earth vector) these have a longer channeling and quick cooldown time.
NOTE: sandburst is a mega heavy magic attack, do not use this to start a boss, it takes aggro. start with torrent and sandtrap, then work your way up.
you can never steal aggro with these skills. and please never underestimate the power of SOULBURN. it does damage to the enemy equal to your soulforce every time it attacks, so imagine the enemy is a quick hitter like Rankar. he will suffer approx 10,000 damage every time he hits the tank for 5 to 7 secs, which is a lot.
these are my tips that have kept me alive till now. I've suffered death just to understand them.

I've tried a lot of classes and my psychic is my favorite character by far. We have lots of awesome stuff we can do (slowing, stunning, deflecting, healing, etc.), we're easy to play, and honestly it's not that difficult to get into a squad in my experience.
As for using white voodoo to not draw aggro, I think that's preferable to just "spacing out" your attacks, except maybe in some situations, since the same amount of damage gets dealt but you suffer less damage if things go bad. Then again you have to waste more mana so I guess I see your point.0 -
My first problem with the original post is that he says psychics are weak and steal aggro.
We can't steal aggro if we're weak. It's not like we have Flesh Ream added to our spells. The reason we steal aggro is because our natural DPS is fairly high, we're the only spellcaster class that has a clear focus on DPS potential. (Wizards are more about damage per hit, rather than damage per time interval.) Therefore, your QQing makes no sense already, so I'm already certain that you're either a troll or a very very inexperienced player. I'll give you benefit of the doubt and assume the latter for now.
Next, what's all this about lacking offense and defense strategy? What level are you, 5? Black Voodoo and White Voodoo alone bring so much potential to the table for that very concept. If you did so much as read the skills we have, let alone use them, you'd see why you're wrong.
As for not called for dungeon parties... Well, that's rather funny that you'd say that. I haven't had any problems getting invited (with open arms) into any squads. Only time I've ever been told no was if there was only one spot left, and it was reserved for a cleric. But I'm pretty sure the Wizard or Archer would also be turned down under that cirsumstance. If you've been having problems, its likely due to lack of skill on your part.
Anyways, all I can really tell you is that if you hate the class, go re-roll. Those of us who actually figured it out are pretty much loving it. If it was a troll, well... Fail troll is fail.0 -

Sorry, but I just can't agree with that. Overall, a Psy is a DD. Gimping your damage defeats that purpose. Yes, there are situations where White Voodoo can come in handy, but with the magnitude by which it reduces your attack it is not efficient for anything other than the DoT's. Just space out your attacks like archers do. If the tank isn't fail, you'll be fine.

I am a level 70 psychic and i hit 7000 every 1 second so imagine in 10 seconds you will do 70000 damage so dont leave your psychic they are awesome. i know a lvl 100 psy that hits 16000 per 1 sec!!!0
