binding / bound items GM please answer ...

Please can a GM clarify once and for all:
I have an Alacantha Wand, which I have the option of decomposing into an Alacantha Wand: Sunflame mold.
The instructions for the Sunflame state that IT WILL BE BOUND UPON EQUIPING. Just to clarify then - I am not binding it: it is being bound automatically.
So the process will be that after spending 5mill+ in mats, I will have a Sunflame wand in my inventory, which becomes bound the instant I add it to my weapon slot - is this accurate?
Now when I get to a higher level - and here's the next question.....
Since it is not an item that I bound, but an item that was bound automatically, can I somehow decompose it into the next level mold.
If not, how do you ever get the next level mold - do you make a 5mill+ weapon and never equip it, just keep it in your inventory, but then decompose it, and follow this process untill you have you end game weapon and then equip it??????
Tks in advance. Your answer will help me decide whether to use/waste 5mill coins on something with a limited life span, or whether to just buy a weapon I can on-sell.
Also, I understand that ANYTHING you bind yourself with a charm, will be destroyed upon unequiping - please clarify that this is correct.
Also, If I make a Sunflame, at what point MUST/CAN I refine or add gems.

That wand ends at TT80 Gold. It doesn't go anywhere. However if it did, yes, you would be able to decomp it, only if you have Blacksmithing though to the appropriate level.0

So in another 10 levels or when I am sick of it, even though it was automatically bound, if I have the necessary crafting level, I can still decompose it for the set number of mirages?......0

No, once it is bound all you can do is destroy it. Unless if you have an account stash, then you can use it on another character.

Actually, if wands are like daggers (Im 99.99999% sure they are) then, it wont be able to be decomposed. A sin asked about it with their gold dagger, a GM stated that it cannot be decomposed. Let me try to find it.I was early taught to work as well as play,

There aren't many gold stuff you need decomposed to upgrade something, actually I can't think of anything atm but I may be wrong...
There's stuff like Nirvana of course which uses gold TT stuff, but it doesn't need them decomposed, just the items themselves. Which would work when it is bound, right? (hope so lol)First 103 on Raging Tide 30 Oct 2010

Bound equipment is destroyed when you decompose it. And yes, as NightRage mentioned, that wand is the end of that 'chain' of weapons. You don't need it's decomposed souledge for any weapons later on. If you check the needed mats for the higher weapons, you can verify what mats you need, and backtrack through the 'chains' to see what weapon you'll need for decomposing.Don't mind me, I'm just here for the free food!

Incorrect. Once an item is bound, it may no longer be decomposed. It may only be destroyed at the PW Promotions Agent in West Arch.
Bound items that do not need to be decomposed to be upgraded can still be upgraded. Aero at the forges, Mystical Tomes or TT99 being recast to Nirvana are the only three examples I can think of that may be upgraded while bound.I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.0
