character names

I cant make my character! No matter what name i choose it says the name is taken. Is there a reason for this?

    The reason is the name is taken, only one character can have a name. :)

    Try others or tack on underscores "_" to a name that's already taken.

    Yeah, someone else already chose that name.

    People get really pissed if you put "_" at the end or beginning of your name. I did that (I wasn't even making it to be based off a name, it was based off |Random_, which I use in IRC... not like the guy believed me) and was trashed out when I was 4x by the 'real' Random.

    I would recommend just trying another name, not underscores.

    it doent matter what name i choose, ive even tried putting random letters and it doent work.

    Hmmm, I think I had an simmilar issue someday nad my name was too long or i used space? idk

    Try to restart client and try again please.

    If you think that you are encountering a glitch or bug in the game it would be best to contact the customer support for the game. Try a few more names first, may just be some bad luck.

    I just recently made another alt to play on when I get bored with this character. It took me like two days to finally get a name that wasn't taken and that I could live with. When the Tideborns came out, a lot of people made alts. The more characters there are means more names are taken.
