Newb Questions

Hey I just started this game last night and I just had a few questions to make my beginning experience easier. I tried looking through other threads and the guides and whatnot but I don't seem to be finding the answers I'm looking for. I've played other MMO's namely the one that begins with a W and ends with a W (I know you can't say MMO names in forums) oh and the middle word begins with an O so that's just wow. Anyways here's my questions.

1) There is a very VERY annoying yellow arrow with some weird symbol in the dead center of my screen which seems to point to no where but if I move so does the arrow. I can't tell where it's pointing from what I see it's just there to annoy me to no end. How do I get rid of it? what is it for?

2) The chat box is kinda confusing me. Is there like a zone/general chat? How do I talk in chat? Each time I try it says something about a microphone or something like that.

3) I decided to go werewolf/barbarian. Is there like a difference if I were to go weretiger instead of werewolf? Like in abilities and skills? And which is better? (I'm a big werewolf fan is why I went wolf)

4) Is there anyway to turn the click to move off and make the movement controls more keyboard oriented? Like W forward A strafe left D strafe right S move back Q turn left E turn right? (I kinda like the controls of the above mentioned MMO I played)

5) This genie pet does it attack your enemies you are attacking? If so how do I make it attack my enemies? Does it gain experience as I gain experience or do I have to "Give" it experience?

6) My action bar (on the bottom of my screen, I know there's the action bar on the side which uses F# buttons) doesn't seem to respond when I push the # when I want to use a skill.

That's kind of all I can think of for now. The game looks very fun just having a hard time adjusting from a different MMO to this one and help would very much be appreciated! Thanks!

Sorry I had one more questions:

When I was creating my character I was VERY VERY limited in what I could change about him. I could not change his hair color or pretty much anything else aside from his body type (Width of shoulders, shape of head, width of legs, and etc.) Was I doing something wrong in character creation? Is there even a way to change the color of a werewolves fur? I had the same issue making a weretiger as well I could not change any detail about him other then his eye color. Are the werebeast not customizable?

All barbs have the same skills, and when you pick the type, you are very limited with what you can do with them. Sadly, there is no difference between any of the barbs other than the outer skin. ^^

When someone says "LF TT 2-2" What is a TT? And what are they talking about?

1. That arrow shows where to go for your current quest, like what NPC you have to visit.
2. Yellow is for world chat, you have to use special microphones for that. White chat is chat from ppl in the area, and pink/blue is for PMs.
3. I think that was answered....don;t know much about barbs anyway lol
4. Not that I know of, but you can use the AWDS keys to move. Also, you can change strafe left/right to run left/right in your user options.
5. When you activate (or whatever you call it) your genie, there should pop up a stat bar thing much like yours, and under its picture there should be a little icon. Depending on what genie you have, it'll have different attacks/skills that can help you in battle. You have to click it tho, as it doesn't automatically attack. And I think (please correct me if I'm wrong!) that you have to buy exp cubes from the Watcher of the Earth in order to increase your genie's exp. The Watchers should be located close to the Elders of any given city.
6. The action bar at the bottom of the screen uses the function keys (F1, F2, etc.) Although I usually just click them ^.^'

Since everything else is answered, I'll just add a couple of things...

Angel_Wolf is correct in claiming that genies level up with cubes, although you can't buy them (From the Watcher, anyways.) In addition, you can level up genies with your own exp and spirit. In addition, it will gain a small percentage of any exp anytime you do. This percentage isn't subtracted from what you gain, it's entirely separate.

For the function keys, you might need to hit F lock. Keep in mind not all keyboards have an F lock. Mine does, and it defaults to locked. (I have to unlock on start-up, basically.)

Also, TT just means Twilight Temple, something you won't have to worry about until at least level 60. If memory serves, 2-2 is for level 82 and up.

i haven't even started playing yet but just need a few tips like:

which would be better to choose out of archers or venomancers?

all i know is that venomancers can fly at lvl 30 but can have pets that battle and archers are mainly long range and can fly at level one. but can have pets that won't battle

it all depends on how you want to play. I have a venomancer, and a pet, and i send my pet out to tank whatever monster im trying to kill (let it take the damage) while i cast spells. So i don't take much damage, but it does get a little boring just hitting the same spell buttons over and over. If you want to battle without your pet, itll be a bit harder, as they aren't the strongest of classes, but they do run faster.

And they're the prettiest, in my opinion.
Also, from what i've read, venos get the most money from farming--correct me if im wrong. Money is always good.

I don't know anything about archers, but i have a cleric for my alt character, and what i can tell you is that the level 1 flight is a nice advantage, but you fly at the same pace you run, which is not as fast as im used to. Also, because you don't have a pet to take all the damage, you tend to get hit hard and have to either meditate or (in my case) heal yourself after almost every mob you kill, which can get to be a tax on your mana after using alot of spells (at least in the lower levels). However, you do tend to hit harder than a veno, and there's more interaction, since you tend to kite the mobs, so your running around more, not just sitting there clicking buttons over and over.

So, like i said, its however you want to play the game.
