Name already in use, please use another

..Only to find out the person who uses that name hasn't logged on in 3 years. I think this is a waste of good names that could be given a better use.

Although I don't like the idea of deleting characters over X amount of inactive days of playing, but I do like the idea of renaming characters if they are inactive for X years. i.e.

Name Yuna is taken, person Yuna actually left the game in 2006. The player Yuna will be renamed to: 9847RHGJD. This should free up a lot of good names and give us more options name wise. I don't like the "name already in use" error which pops up at least 4 times before I can find one I can use. If the player returned, we could give them the option to pick another name, maybe via naming scrolls (item mall?) It's their fault for not playing the last 3 years if they actually decide to come back, and I feel good names like Tom, Joe etc.. shouldn't be wasted.

    I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that accounts are deleted after like 12 months of no use. I would assume this means their names are freed up as well.

    I love how you asspulled your numbers.

    PWI celebrates its one-year anniversary last August. That would mean that before August 2008, there was no PWI, therefore also no names taken. Yet, in your post, the numbers are "three years" and "2006".

    And the whole "changes name to gibberish" wouldn't be good. What if, say, a person went to the army and couldn't play for a year or more, only to get back and find out that their beloved character has been changed to have a name filled with gibberish?

    Also, your suggestion is self-defeating, as creating a gibberish name is against the rules.

    Yea... please keep us in mind... Im in the army, 11B, Airborne Ranger, and special forces, and we struggle alot with this. It isnt really to our benefit. We are gone from home for a real long time...

    ummm. no.

    people have valid reasons for not playing for long periods of time, and shouldn't be penalised by having their name taken. I myself didn't play from April 2009 - January 2010, and I woulda been hella annoyed to find my veno's name changed to gibberish.

    Seriously, it's not that hard to come up with another name.

    I agree, go google, look up japanese names, korean, middle eastern, european, combine them, there are many other ways of solving this and getting a nice original name rather than having to make yours giberish :)

    a way so your Name can be unique is that you take a simple word, and put it through google translator

    an example, archer means Shigjetar in Albanian, so you can edit that word slightly and some out with a name like Shigjet =3

    I understand why you would want that to be implemented into the game, It can be hard to pick a name that is not taken for a character. Although this would be very unfair for the player who originally had the name thus I doubt this will be put into the game.
