I have a restat and im thinking of using it, i have 50 points in VIT and the rest is MAG and the REQ STR i need for weapons/arcane

I put some HP in him Cause i know im not meant to take hits but we have skills that require us getting hit for them to take effect, such as soulburn.

Would it be a better idea to go pure or stay with 50 VIT? I plan on using this as my main and sharding and such. An explanation would be nice as to what i should do.

Thanks :D

i have the same amount of vit as you and have been wondering the same thing b:chuckle

most of my higher level friends reckon just leave the vit as it is. it helps you survive a little bit longer, and it's not an over-the-top amount to have.

Do you find it helps in PVP? cause ive been looking around the forums and everyones like PURE PURE PURE OMG PURE

But never say anything about why its better, they just say it does more dmg.

I suppose it does - Calvin (lvl 101 BM i think) dropped out of the sky and couldn't one hit me recently (a few levels back too). Had enough time for my free plat charm to tick, cast psychic will and fly off b:chuckle. Perhaps with less HP it would've been a 1-hit KO.

I'm assuming going pure with those extra points would give you an extra 1K or so m-attack. I'd need to spend some time with one of those calculators to really figure it out.

If you see Samsoul around, she's pure and on our server, so she might be able to provide perspective from the other side.

Hey Glowfish mentioned me! :D Hey Glowy.

Yeah I restatted to pure arcane, I have 3 vit and just enough str for armor and wep.

The damage difference is noticable, where I was hitting 4-8k before with black voodoo, I'm now hitting around 6k-9k.

However, I think I may have restatted too early, I am an incredibly easy person to kill. PVE wise, a fantastic build. PVP, I reckon we seriously have to rethink this.

I'm actually considering restatting again. b:chuckle

I'm pure and I win the majority of my fights in PvP, so it all comes down to what you as a player are capable of. Personally I'd say the pure magic build is superior in PvP, but only if the player can handle it.

If you can handle being pure, by all means do it. But you will have to learn to react to changes on the battlefield faster, or else you'll be a fried fish. I do believe, however, that this fact will often mold the purists into the more potentially skilled fighters. Just from the rationale that if you're forced to sink or swim, you'll learn to swim eventually. But again, this doesn't suit everyone. And that doesn't mean that there aren't skilled VIT psychics too, because there's plenty of those.

Edit: Do remember to shard HP stones into your gear if you go pure. Refines are nice too if you can afford them.

as long as you know how to cover your **** with genie skills and know how to use your own skills pure magic is baller. the damage is awesome, but imo it's better for pure magic because you have damage deflect and resist, which if you know how to use correctly, to asborb a great portion of the damage dealt to you. and also you can get hp and p. def by sharding your gear with garnets and citrines :P i have only about 2k with full citrines and i've found it difficult for people to deal with the damage resists while being hit for about 1-2k.

Thanks for the help guys, And also, is it best for PHYSDEF Shards or HP shards on armor? or a combo? if so what is the ratio i should use?

I figured a bit of extra hp wouldnt be too bad since soul burn is fkin ace

    EDIT:

WTF look at my AVATAR lol!!

umm. ppl reckon some of each is good. i've just stuck to garnets for the moment. ~1500pdef unbuffed (with protection belt and necky) and not fully sharded.

Personally I'd rather focus on HP shards. HP adds don't diminish when stacked, and they help you survive damage of either type.

Then again, I was fortunate enough to find/buy gear with pdef bonuses all the way into 8x. Might take some patience to get a full set this way, but they're out there. Edit: I suppose the opposite is also true... if your gear has a ton of built in HP adds, you might want to shard more pdef. I guess if your gear has neither, or just some small amount of both, then sharding for both makes sense too...

Ultimately I guess it depends on your experiences and your gear. Still though, usually I'll pay more attention to my HP total than my pdef total, but that's me.
