Fatter characters?

Way back when I use to play this game, I have used ini editing to make a fat barb character. Now, it didn't look hideous or anything, just fatter overall to a point where it still looked natural.
Well, I'm thinking about coming back to this game but I have a question. have they added more slider range on the weight scales for characters?
The whole reason I quit the game was because I heard having a fat character was a banable offense. I thought it was really stupid to not allow more diversity in characters and I wanted a fat brute looking character. The ini text editing allowed me to do that. That's all. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm hoping they added more range for the weight slider, not for ini editing to have to be used again to have a slightly fatter barb.
Honestly, I know what ini editing does. I saw invisible and really skinny characters via this method and I think those are horrible and should deserve a ban. But can I at least have the option "ingame" to be a fatter character? Everyone loves those fat pandas after all...

Having a fat character is not a bannable offence.
Editing the .ini files to create a character beyond the capacity the normal character creation does not allow is. This goes for anything from weight to breast size to head size to whatever else.

Well, the big difference here is that I was allowed to have a fatter than character creation allowed from ini. What I'm asking if larger sized characters have been added into the character maker sliders plus all the other stuff I asked. Especially since the "fat" characters in game, were not fat at all compared to the rather portly brute I had.
My character still, even when fatter, still looked normal. I was hoping more size range was added. I quit the game because of the Overly fat = bad idea when I wasn't too large at all...0 -
No, they haven't added more customization options, at least not the kind you're talking about.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

So, I can't be a fat brute? That's a shame... I really liked being large like that. I wasn't too large. Just a few bits over the allowed size. If I remember correctly. The normal ingame full fat size was like 126 or something. I was like 180 or something out of the 255 or so allowed through ini. I really can't remember the actual numbers since I haven't played like in a year and a half. In other words, I looked pretty normal looking, just a bit more overweight than others.0 -
I don't think you'd find a fat hero very...yeah....
..one of my mates made a fat char by editing the .ini file...yeah nah..just don't look so good lol

Yes, it is bannable. While in your specific case it's not because of what you are doing, but because that opens the question of what can be done. If they let you make a character that is overly obtuse, they would have to allow characters which were extremely small (as some of us have seen people do). Just make a character as big as you can, and possibly add into the suggestion box that they open the option to make larger sized characters. Honestly, I think it would be quite funny to see a Panda Barb walking around who actually is the size of a Panda. That would be quite amusing, especially if he was riding on one of those Deer mounts.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Now, you can say he isn't awesome; but we'll all know it because you are jealous. If they let you make a character that is overly obtuse, they would have to allow characters which were extremely small (as some of us have seen people do).
As a side note... Bejing version currecntly has a slider to affect character height so one would presume it will be coming here shortly along with TB skills and new hvn/hell skill system.
PS Just edit the damn file and stay in tiger form unless you are inside an instance with cool people.0 -

Why would you want to be that fat?
Seriously you'd probably just be a pain in the **** to every other player and an eye sore.
That barb in underwear = uninstall PWI in 3,2,1[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

It's a design choice that I and quite a few others want to look like. When I played. Not one person batted an eye and to the ones that did, thought it was cool and kind of cuddly cute and some wished I was a panda like that.
If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say it.0 -

No. They don't. By making a character bigger you are allowing individuality and customization into the game. People make characters super skinny in order to not be targetable; which is, in essence, a bug exploit - and therefore ban worthy.
As a side note... Bejing version currecntly has a slider to affect character height so one would presume it will be coming here shortly along with TB skills and new hvn/hell skill system.

What about making a character so big as to be able to hide others in it's target range? It would be the same case, exploiting a bug. Both of these bugs are exploited by editing the .ini files. Therefore, they cannot allow one person to edit the .ini file beyond the proposed limits and not let another. As such, the negative would be if they can let one person edit the .ini files, they can let another. Why else do you think it is bannable to take the hair of one race and put it on another? It doesn't hurt anyone like the twig skinny characters did, but it is still bannable.
If you are going to base your idea of what is bannable based on what is a bug exploit, switching hairs would not be as it does not produce an error or glitch in the intended gameplay.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

oh so this person wants a cuddly and cute barb rather than a ferocious, intimidating barb.
so go panda!0 -

Yeah well; I'm fairly sure I'm not the only one who thinks its not something I want to see ingame.
And not only because of the amount of griefing/exploiting you can do with it.If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say it.
Can't be a forum if all you want is to hear nice things about your ideas. Some people disagree with what you want - just how a forum works I'm afraid.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
I'm only basing my idea around what is within target range. That fat barb never left the circular selection around it. It wasn't huge enough to **** around with selection of characters on screen while they're playing.
Say if my character left that selection range, then I would tone it down.
I'm not asking for editing of ini. I'm asking for it ingame for when I make the character. I'm pretty sure that me and many others would be happy to have more range in how their character looks. Also, since sliders add more weight to the belly, the sliders themselves and how they work, also gives people the option of being more muscular. Now I bet people would want that too. Two birds with one stone.0 -

Bludd - Harshlands wrote: »This can already happen with the current sized characters. Therefore, making it bigger would not create a bug and, therefore, your entire argument is flawed.
So what if they made a character which was four to five times the max allowed by the normal? Well, I think that would create a problem, as they would be able to cover several people all at once who were not all standing on top of each other due to the enlarged target range. The argument isn't flawed, you just didn't read it the way I intended it to be understood.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

"I quit the game because I couldn't make my panda fat enough"
Seriously, gtfo O_o
Character customization is pretty diverse but it will always have it's limitations. Can't keep everyone happy, some things just can't be done. Deal with it.0 -
Did you see the link I posted? That is the max size. Hardly the problem you're trying to paint it as.0

Well, had you mentioned that was the max size, then we could have saved us both some trouble. b:laugh
Anyways, now that it is cleared up, I'd like to hear your retort to why then, if this would not cause problems, they have decided editing the .ini file at all, even for a harmless purpose as this, or for the hair. If in fact it is based on gameplay bugs that they choose to ban, surely these do not apply?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

It is because of what he's doing. Thin characters isnt the only way to mess with how the game is meant to be played. Fat barbs are often used in TW & PvP to basically sheild normal or thinner characters from being able to be targetted easily. Its the reverse of the thin characters, making people be unable to target someone else behind (or inside) of you.0 -

You can't make characters 4 times the size. The max is like 255 on the scale which is about double. I'm nowhere near double anyways. I was within the limits of character selection circles.
Characters already cover others to begin with normally. In World of "WOW" *Seriously, War craft is censored?) and every other MMO, this is a problem. That's why there is a camera.0 -
I never said it wasn't banable. I said it is dumb to ban people for that, and that as long as he was in tiger mode in public he'd never get caught.
Your argument falls flat. In TW people can hide behind the catapult, which has the added benefit of being smart. In general pk, if that strategy kills you then you have bigger problems than a fat panda.
One more time... it is no easier or harder to hide inside a max sized character than it is a normal sized character. This is coming from someone who clearly has more experience in the matter than you.0 -
Even if they let the sliders let us be a teeny bit bigger or a teeny bit smaller, the characters would still look okay. Though, I'd like having something larger, I'd be really okay with it.
Like I've noticed, this argument has been going on since forever. They could adjust the slider limits even a little bit to satisfy some people. That way, we could be not too skinny, not to fat, not too muscular or whatever but it definitely would add more diverse options for creating a look.
Though, I never seen anyone actually care that I was a bit fatter ingame so I don't see why they would have such strict slider limits. I hear some of the other versions of this game even allow ini editing or apparently don't care about it which "I am not asking for legal ini editing". Would it be possible to adjust the sliders to have this slightly skinnier or fatter/muscular look? Of course it'd have to have more of a gain, but not too much, towards the larger sizes since the invisible/twig players are the problem.0
