How does it work without beeng banned, we have 2 computers but 1 IP address, so do we need to create 2nd account or we can use the same?

Your girlfriend needs to open her own account. Accountsharing is against the Terms of Service and will lead to an instant ban.

    many thanx!
and what about me helping her out with things that i could have and she might need, or the other way around, can we for example drop and pick up, or we can't do that?
and is there anything else we should know, that could give us trouble?

Any of what you describe is fine :). So is playing from the same IP address. And as aryanna said, in any situation (whether or not you were at the same IP address), you'd both need your own accounts.

Helping her out with quests, giving her money or items, or any of that is fine :).

maybe your public IP is the same (one modem for 2 computers) but these two computers use 2 different IP inside your private network.

So if you play an account on one computer and the other account on the other computer, it is allowed by the rules.

After that how you play with your girlfriend is finally an important part of the game. You can give her the items you have and she can also :). After all even if you are playing in the same room that doesnt change the fact that your toons will be a part of the world :).

About that, thats kinda obvious but ToS would have to be updated in any case, atm it doesnt prohibit account sharing, just advices against.

IP address conflict. You will have problems even accessing the internet properly, let alone play the game.

Uh, no they won't. This is how most home networks are set up (fake IP addresses handed out by your router which only has one real IP address assigned from your access provider).

However, you will have trouble if one of you is trying to play and the other uses any "tunneling" software (anything that tries to set up a secure "virtually private" connection) and you could even find yourselves causing each other to DC pretty frequently. That is the only issue I've seen from this game and multiple users sharing same router.

Fake IP or not, each separate computer will still have it's own different private IP assigned by the router DHCP no? That is precisely the function of the router- NAT.

hmm... i wonder how u do that.. if both computers have the same (private) IP, how are the game clients gonna 'talk' to the router? It is akin to 2 different persons having the same postal address.

I think you are just playing semantics with what the OP was saying. Remember that not everyone is computer savvy. He probably just meant they are on the same internet connection at his house, without knowing that the IP addresses for each computer are different as he is on a router.

Remember, there is a difference between reading what a person is saying and knowing what they mean.

No problemo. 2 PC's 2 different mac-addresses. Router IP is no issue.

No, frankie means you can't share a PWI account. I have 3 accounts on my own, all with different email addresses, and my husband has one (but never plays). I use 2 computers with 2 accounts a lot, running on the same connection, via a router.

The 3rd account is mostly storage and a catshop chara, and I'm not using it much, mostly when I want to sell stuff overnight, or when I'm only playing one character (since logging 2 clients on a single computer is bannable).
