Launcher refuses to update

As seen above, it refuses to update. I have been here since the game launched, though I have "quit" several times so this is not a bad install. Currently at version 299. It tells me that I need to update the client, I go along as usual, click ok and the launcher just closes. I have tried this multiple times and each time it simply closes, accomplishing nothing.

    Try running Verify on the game launcher screen.

    It might be Windows, Admin, UAC or antivirus settings that you will need to change so that they aren't blocking the game.

    I can guarantee that it is not blocked, running verify now, but I was able to play not very ago and no changes have been made to the antivirus or OS of my computer.

    If its says "Client is running, unable to resume update" you have to open Task Manager, Processes, and end elementclient. Then the game should work.

    It doesn't, it just says "New version available do you want to update?" select the download sever, (tried both) click ok, client closes, nothing happens
