how to remove an recruits badge

i have an item that is unable to be refined, decomposed, traded, discarded, or sold

HOW DO I GET RID OF IT????!!!!

its taking up much needed space in my inventory

ITS DRIVING ME NUTS!!!!

    It is a rank badge. You cannot get rid of it, however as you progress you may trade it in for better rank rings.
    I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.

    When you get to rank 2, you can turn it in for the rank II ring quest, but not pick up the rank II ring. You might end up with an extra quest that way though (probably worse).

    I got rid of mine, but had to leave it in the bank until I had enough rep for the next level.

    When you have enough rep for rank 2, go see the guy and complete the first quest so that he takes the ring from your inventory. He will then have a gold flag above his head; if you talk to him you will get another annoying ring. So don't talk to him. Instead, open quest list and trash the quest. You will still have the option of talking to him in the future if you ever want to, but will now have no ring and no annoying quest to worry about.
