Today I went to World Chat to look for members for 3-1... 3 Wizards whispered me and I invited them all.

One said "It's fail. sorry." then left squad.

Hmmm? What is fail? 3 Wizards is fail on TTs? Anyone care to explain what could possibly this guy be thinking?

some hold the idea that wizards are useless in hh, although they can deal damage. the issue comes about that they can take aggro and die a lot. needless to say it would be a potential volatile situation, you would have to have a well experianced cleric and wizard to be able to hold it all together. b:shutup

get a veno with herc, and there wont be any aggro problem.

btw, 3 wizzies on one mob means almost istant death. U_U
and on bosses, no problem, thz to barb's aggro skills.

Hercs are great at holding aggro against TT bosses, and also reduce barb repair bills b:laugh

Dont worry about the "fail" comment, Doubt it would happen often.

the more wizzys the better with undine XD

I've actually calculated it, the 600mp cost doesn't give enough dmg increase for a single wizzy to use it and justify the mp cost (you'll do more dmg for less mp with say a gush, just that it takes a tiny bit longer).
But when you have 3 wizzy's, undine gives in total enough dmg increase that you can use it as an actual dmg skil which is mp friendly

    lol.
The fail was the one who left, he he.
Anyway, that's not the only failure.
I was searching yesterday a Brim BH, one squad (all over 90) had 3 clerics 1 lvl 90 archer and 1 sin and they WC for a tank... Now I asked the guys if they have a BM (with BM buff I can tank Brim with BB at Abomination, without I have to pot/genie heal a little) they said no, I asked how many clerics, they said 3. I offered myself to tank DD, and I was lolreject and called nub.

    I spam undine, constantly.

I would say Undine has to be my primary spell.

Some people seem to have serious misconceptions about the survivability of wizards. I think others have, in general, little understanding of our class. A lot of people seem surprised when I offer to tank bosses in BH59. I've had an archer 8 levels below me who though I had some sort of magic aggro stealing skill like a barb does. And of course clerics who just assume that if you offer to tank you have the hp of a barb, and therefore don't require constant healing and they can go do something like rez someone else without stacking ironheart first...

lol, don't get me started with 59...I was lolrejected by some "expert" FB squad that was looking for a barb tank for 59 in world chat with something like: "The tank must be a barb"...

    again dO_Ob...

I understand, I'm 99, so I dunno...ppl might believe that their chances for a mold drop get fked up or something, but for some reason this happened a lot in the last 2 weeks since I'm active ingame again. 4-5 months back there were some isolated proofs of absolute ignorance, but now it's like I'm running into them every day (BTW, i forgot about another group of nubs that were looking for a barb to tank Blackhole and they lolrejected-learn2read-we-need-tank me....sheesh.....)

I know what you mean Ursa, people want barbs to tank 59 all the time but lately ive been getting really easy BH squads for 59 because I say I can tank them and its better than a barb tank. Ive also been asked to tank a BH59 run while we had 2 barbs in a squad so maybe people are starting to learn on HT that wizards tank 59 end of! b:victory

Assplain to them that 59 is (I think) 100% magic from bosses at range. I can tank up to and including the Dark Dragon Templar in terms of boss strength.

Some people just really that a wizard functions as a resistance based tank in this game x_x

Makes me wonder what these squads did when they needed mantavip... probably just got a barb to go arcane for them.

Wizards can also tank pyrosteosis, turtle mini boss and poison mini boss in 69 too. I do at least, I also like to suprise my party by pulling it with gush as well :D

I like to pull the two big bad bosses in 69 just because it makes things a little more exciting.

Its called self disapline an knowing your toon, holding the attacks an letting the tank get aggro.

Said it before .. A good wizard knows when NOT to cast a spell.

I been in multiple TTs with other wizards an it went flawlessly. Perhaps the wizard had a grudge, didnt want his or her ego bent or wanted to be 'top wiz' what ever that could be.
Regaurdless your prolly better off out of it hehe

Same thought... People should realise that mages are awesome tanks for a number of bosses. The only problem i experience from time to time is aggro. Archers (if roughly same lvl and gear) will normally take aggro from you with their high normal-shot dps.

I remember tanking most of fb79 back in the day, its no problem at all. You can tank all bosses in there except for the archer one.

I see the tanking thing every time i go into warsong (for BH mostly). If you slaughter your way through the metal mobs towards Snakefist Guardian, watch your mage's hp and the barb's hp while those Dino mobs aoe your squad --> I get hit for 200,300,500... Same time i see the barb's hp go down to 20% in like 5secs, even with decent hp...

We could actually tank a lot more stuff if we had an aggro skill... shield up, 20k water def, gogo b:victory

Mages can tank pretty much anything that's purely physical (if it doesn't hit too hard/fast) or water/fire/earth magic. Archer bosses too, if you stay close to them. Just run up to them like a BM would till they stop kiting. Until then you'll have to deal with some high hits but afterwards it's easy.

To be honest, the guy that said 'it's fail' was probably saying. 'It's been like half an hour and all we got is three wizards'.

Weird thing is, a wizard in faction asked for help with his Chrono wheel bosses, the spider mobs, wraith chief and the guy by hidden orchid. He seemed genuinely surprised that not only did I not get 1/2 shotted by the boss but I was able to resist enough damage for him to DD a fair amount between healing me.

Ppl lvl so fast these days so when they are 70-80, theyve had little time to learn their class, let alone any other class... So 80% of ppl i met for BH59 were like "LF barb to tank Drake QQ" >.> Drake is probably the easiest boss to tank in there for a wiz -.-

gotta tell the best bh69 i've done as wiz was with 3 more wizards. it was cool to have boss constantly undined and barb spammed with elemental shell^^

but... don't worry about that squad drama. there are noobs everywhere. i see drama nearly every day while recruiting for bh and nowadays i just laugh at them.
