TW Results! - 03/26/2010 (Friday)


Night attacks Broken Plain held by Leviathan -Another long war this time 2 hours and 10 minutes with Leviathan and Night. Night rushed up B path at the beginning of the TW and took down the path towers. After that Night never really got close to their base occasionly reaching the towers but never really doing much. Leviathan played a really smart game posting squads at every gate ensureing all Night attacks would be stopped. The majority of the war took place at the middle path and after the 1 hour and 15 minute mark Leviathan begun to attack as more of their members had logged on. With squads posted at every gate all attacks by Night were stopped and the assault on Night's base had begun. After another hour and destroying all the gate towers Leviathan attacked the crystal. Night made a desperate push down the side and got inside the base with 1 squad but couldn't stay there as Leviathan had all 4 on the crystal. Leviathan defends the Broken Plain in 2 hours and 10 minutes.

Dynasty attacks The Great Lake held by Haven-Haven started the TW with a big rush down the middle path and met up with some heavy resistance from Dynasty. Haven slowly ploughed through eventually taking down the gate towers of Dynasty before being pushed back. Haven quickly regrouped and went down B again. Dynasty on the other hand were gathering their forces at C path and Haven send defence squads to clear them out. Dynasty caught a break though and almost made it inside Haven's base if it were not for the excellent defence. Haven destroyed the crystal after 50 minutes defending The Great Lake.

TW Results! - 03/27/2010(Saturday)

Leviathan attacks The Harshlands held by LatinolS- lets see...Leviathan steamrolled LatinolS taking The harshlands.

Infamy attacks Silk Ridge held by Unity-Infamy...steamrolls Unity taking Silk Ridge easily...

Haven attacks Wellspring Village held by Dynasty- 8:06 PM EST-Dynasty attempted to turtle but Haven rushed right through. With aoes set on the crystal Dynasty could not push them out and Haven takes Wellspring Village.

Varden attacks Sundown Highland held by Tao- Varden wins and now owns Sundown Highland. Will be updating this later

Asylum attacks Black Mountain held by Outbidded -Outbidded won after 2 hours and 5 minutes keeping Black Mountain

Backdraft attacks Island of Broken Dreams held by QQyou- Backdraft motivated by a speech given by Riney :) attacked the middle path with their entire faction. Keeping QQyou focused on the middle backdraft snuck cats in the sides and took out towers before they were finished building and towers that were built. QQyou pushed out all but 1 cat and Backdraft managed to stay in their base. After the other cats came the war was lost for QQyou and Island of Broken Dreams falls to Backdraft.

    Night vs. Leviathan - Leviathan in under 20 minutes.

    Dynasty vs. Haven - No clue, I know Dynasty isn't very strong, don't know anything about Haven.

    Levaiathan vs. Latinols - Leviathan in 10 minutes

    Infamy vs. Unity - However long it takes Ambition to get the catapult to the crystal.

    Haven vs. Dynasty - Again, don't know much about either faction.

    Varden vs. Tao - Either faction could win, probably another 2 hour + war.

    Asylum vs. Outbidded - Asylum, never heard of em dunno who could win.

    Backdraft vs. QQyou - QQyou definitely lol.


    Maybe it's just me but there doesn't seem to be as many wars as usual this weekend.

    Well Night held Leviathan off for over an hour and a half last week while sending out attack squads so I think it might be close again depending on the turnouts for each guild

    me was hoping to see an attack on 1000 streams this week by "someone" but guess Fuzzy need to wait at least another week to see result of that...

    Quality is pretty bad. From what I've heard from others that make TW videos, the video will always look worse on youtube than it does on your computer.

    Cleric is generally a pretty boring POV to watch. People mostly like watching DDs, like archers and mages. Clerics are only interesting to wach if their metal maging, and if a cleric is attacking people in a TW then the cleric is usually wrong. Not to say that you will never attack anyone, but supporting your squad is more important. Now if your squad isn't being attacked and their full buffed then there is nothing wrong with throwing in an attack or two. Seeing as how you only seem to have 3 minutes of footage from a war that long, it doesn't look like you attacked much, which is typical for a cleric.


    But yea, definately work on the quality.

    Video making tips:
    1) Try to use an older version of FRAPS if you are having computer lag issues - older versions do not compress as well so they're faster (at the cost of larger raw file sizes, but you can re-compress them later).
    2) If you want high quality, use the "Full-size" option in FRAPS. This will reduce your framerate though if you have a bad computer, so reduce the FPS to something like 15. To obtain "HQ" quality on YouTube, you need to capture "Full-size" at 1280x720 or higher. With the listed settings, expect ~30 GB for a 3hr TW.
    3) Turn off "Record Sound" if you didn't already.
    4) Use a video editor to speed up the video by at least 2x. This solves the framerate issue as well as the everything-too-slow-and-looks-boring issue. I personally always have my videos sped up to 3x or 4x because of the fast pace of my background music and because I'm loaded with footage.
    5) Experiment with transition effects and timing the video footage with the background music
    6) ...

    I don't think anyone was shocked by any of the TW results, except for Tao vs. Varden.

    I figured since Tao had the advantage of defense, they'd be able to hold out longer. Oh well. Good fight, good night?
