Anyone knw a way to get this Safety lock off? Cause trying to sell my iteams, make a faction and everytime i exit game keeps saying 10Hours 59Mins. Makes me want to play different game.

    Oh boy. I know some basics about this, maybe someone else knows the whole trick to it.

    You need to wait like 3 days (72 hours) for safety lock changes to take full effect. So change to like 1 minute, wait 3 days (if you're not online, should work as well) and then everytime you log on, it'll say that the timer is 1 minute (which is the very minimum).

    What I'm not sure of, is if you need to change like everytime you log on, or if it only extends the time you have to wait...

    Ah well, I probably got ninja'ed as I was writing this, lol. Someone's bound to know more than me on this one.

    In order to change the time on safety lock, do the following:

    - Set your safety lock to one minute. I assume you already know how to change the timer, because safety lock's default time is one minute, so you must have set it to eleven hours.

    - Once your lock is set to one minute, you need to wait three days before it resets. Do not edit it at all in this time. If you try and reset it again before the 72 hour time limit passes, the whole timer resets, and you need to wait another 72 hours.

    - After three days, if done properly, your safety lock should be back to one minute.

    So after 3 days it wont say 10hours or will it?

    If so im just gonna find another game to play

    Yes, if you change the timer and do not touch it within 3 days.

    Normally it should be set back to 1 min, or whatever time you chose. Just follow as Airyll said exactly, and it should work.

    If it doesn't, best to get tech support.

    Go in game
    Click on the safety lock thing and set it to 1 minute.
    click YES
    WAIT THREE DAYS AND DONT TOUCH THE EFFIN THING
    your safety lock will be reset to 1 minute.

    If you touch it within that 3 days, guess what! WAIT THREE MORE DAYS!

    Is there any point to the safety lock? I have played this game since its release and its only brought annoyances.

    Wish there was an option to disable the damn thing altogether.

    ya, i got a full bank & full Inventory and got no room at all, sucky if i get a good **** drop and cant pick it up. Cant make my faction til 3days or more. This dum Safety lock is making me want to quit the game and play WoW. Man we should have a vote on If we should keep it or not lol

    Zarelixia, you're the one who should calm down here. Everyone in this thread has been helpful. Krue's post might not have been worded as politely as it could have been, but he gave you the information you were looking for, and it's understandable if he's trying to emphasize a point a lot of people miss. Your post was *much* less polite, so I don't see how you can ask for more courteous responses than you're willing to give yourself.

    You don't have to play this game if you don't want to. But threatening to quit doesn't affect anyone on these forums (even the GMs, who don't even have the power to change your safety lock for you, I'm pretty sure).

    This safety lock issue has been around since the start of the game and there are plenty of GM posts about it. Certainly it can be problematic, but ultimately it was you who set it to 11 hours, not anyone else. It starts out at 1 minute.

    axt57, as to having a purpose, they've changed safety lock so it can protect you from dropping items in PK mode now. searching the forums or reading old patch notes should explain that (happened last summer).

    (I'm not personally a fan of the safety lock before or after the change, but that's not the point of the thread.)
