Weapons Toggle

An RPG I used to play had a patch where they introduced the weapon toggle button. If you were using one weapon set you could quickly toggle to a different weapon more fit for the situation.

PWI has so much more weapon/char diversity that this would be a huge time saver and would add to the fun of the game.

Think about it: You are a bm slashing away with a sword, all of a sudden you are surrounded by mobs. Hit the toggle key, now you have an axe and can aoe better.

You are a barb, damage dealing his way to a boss. Now the situation calls for tanking so you toggle to a weapon with vitality on it and pull tiger form.

You are an archer in the middle of a tough fight and your arrows run low, quick toggle to your alternate weapon and you are good to keep fighting without having to stop i nthe middle.

You are a game designer who makes money by people competing for the best weapons. You introduce a quick weapon toggle option and people start buying more weapons because now its easier to have two weapons for one character.

Edited out game name, thanks Gohan, didn't know.

It's called the shortcut bar. You can put weapons on that.

Also you're not supposed to identify other games by name.

I agree with this feature wholeheartedly. As a AA/HA Veno, I've dealt with several scenarios where I have been under attack, and have had to make the switch from one set of armor to another, and pressing four buttons in my "shortcut bar" isn't really conducive to escaping combat alive.

While I'm not sure of the coding behind it all, I don't see why equipment wouldn't be able to be thrown into a macro set-up. Being able to press one button and have it quickly equip all of my other armor would be amazing and very pleasing.

Further, for classes that are more complex with what equipment they'd want in certain scenarios, they'd want something like this. A Barb, for example, quickly needing to change from a DD gear setup to one made for tanking could set up a macro that quickly sets up all of their +Vit +HP gear ending in the shift to True Form, as well as another macro that fires them back into their stand-up form with all of their DD-oriented gear.

While I understand that this doesn't necessarily apply to everyone given that changes in gear aren't common, especially early on, it becomes increasingly common during the late game to see classes equipping multiple weapons to increase their effectiveness in multiple roles (Multi-weapon BMs and Fist Archers are just scratching the surface with the more common builds). Things that curry to the favor of the members that have reached these points will increase their desire to stick around, which will in turn produce some payout when they stick to spending ZEN here. So I think a minor coding change could produce some very nice results.

You pretty much already have this feature.

Open up your inventory. Drag your weapon of choice onto your shortcut bar. Viola. You can switch to your weapon of choice with a single key press or a single click and change back with another single key press or a single click. It can't be more simple....

No, there isn't a single button that you could use, and I wouldn't want it. I have 4 different weapons I need to select at a moment's notice and having to toggle through them to find the right one would be worse than the option you have now.

yes having weapons in your short cut bar dose work well, but. Thing about it to be able to switch back and forth easy, with just basic armor and weapon you need to take up 22 slots in your quick bar 11 per set and thats only if you not an archer.

i have tried this maynt times with my veno and its just a waist of space. and to be able to pull the quick bar setting off you have to carry the other set with you. i have plaied a game a while back that let you have two whole sets of armor and weapons programed in. A sipmly toggle butten to switched them back and forth much easyer and it saves on room.

I gotta agree here. The fact that alot of the BM's use 4 weps (Sword/Blade, axe/hammer, Fist/Claw, Polearm/Poleblade), makes it really crappy if we have to toggle through 4 sets of gear to get the right one for the current time.
With the current set-up, any BM can just put the wep into their F1-8 shortcut bar and use them like that (which I do), and it simplifies everything massively!
As for a toggle with armor, That I WOULD support. Because as most BM's know (along with other classes), the need for certain armor changes depending on what your fighting/have arggo on.

That's way beyond the scope of this thread. And you shouldn't be trying to change whole sets of armor mid-combat.

I wouldn't mind seeing this implemented either, but it would make the game pretty broken, especially for the rich cash shoppers...
