Pet collar?

    There are two pet merchants(not sure what they're called in PWe) in Archosaur. One is a lady in the very South-East corner of the city. You'll know her because she's surrounded by a bunch of rare baby pets. The second is a bit north of there in the water at the docks. He looks like a big fishman.
    Both of those NPCs sell the pet collar and, as far as I know, are the only ones that do in the entire game.

    I'm not sure it does, has anyone gotten the collar to work? I bought one and then used the "rename pet" option from the lady... typed in the name, hit 'ok' (or equivalent) and...

    Nothing.

    Is there some magic to it that I'm missing? I tried it with pet active, pet in bag, pet standing on its head, etc and still... nothing.

    I think it costs around 10k to get one.

    Hmm I just tried one, bought it for 10k from the Zoologist Jin or something (by the harbor area, hes underwater) in Archosaur, chose the Rename Pet option and it worked normally from there. I did notice it said max 5 characters in the window though, maybe thats whats wrong for you?

    EDIT: Though Ive seen a pet called Absinthe, which is longer than just 5 characters...

    It works just fine, I've used it(Pets name was Delirium).
    Pet has to be unsummoned and there's a character limit(though it's greater than 5).
    Also, if you're using an invalid character, it wont work.

    Is spaces allowed in the name? Cause I tried doing that and it didn't work, but when I didn't use a space, and used less than 5 characters it worked.

    When you rename, does it still say " <yourname>'s <petname>"

    or does it just display the name by itself?

    Does unsummoned mean unhatched or in the pet bag?

    Unsummoned means in the pet bag.

    Pet names have an 8 char limit. I doubt spaces are allowed, but I don't know for sure.

    Does the collar only work once,, or can you reuse it over and over again?

    pet collars are one use only, and disappear on use.
