Question on high level axes add-ons

Hello guys,

I am browsing from time to time the database looking on the stats of the weapons I am going to use and doing this 2 add-ons cought my attention :

+ 1/2 RANGE
I am curious on what possible benefit can a +2 RANGE yield for a barb. I used to play archer and having +2 meters for a range class is impressive. But what real use come from this add-on regarding a barb?

PROVOKE
Provoke increases your threat level. That I get! What I would like to find out is how often it procs - is it around 5% of the hits you deal, is it more?
And more interesting to find out : anybody has some idea on how strong is the threat level this skill creates?

I assume there are some other persons out there that could use some more information on this topic so feel free to share any experience you had with weapons that had one of these add-ons.

    +2 range pretty much sucks for a melee... and it makes for some awkward tanking (boss see's you as sitting at range and constantly spams magic atk on you, eww).

    I'm interested to learn more about Provoke as well, but I have a nasty feeling it will reset aggro and put it on you... which is not good for building up aggro. Just a guess though, don't quote me.

    Anybody know for sure?

    Range is nice when smb is runing from me. But Lyca is right, at first it was very awkward since I kept ranging mgk mobs ._. Rofl it's also nice when I need to catch a mob smb is pulling xD

    I read somewhere Provoke stacks... But can't even find it now. Also curious to find out about this add on, have 100lvl axes with it. I wanted to test out which of my weaps would hold agro better but the golden ohts are +4 while my normal ones are +8 double garnet gemed ._. So... kinda can't.

    I used those OHTs while DDing during a BH3-3 run once, veno tanking 1st bosses. I was taking agro o.O or maybe she just sucked, or I'm just imagining thngs.

    well i just helped kill soulhunter this morning and maybe the +2 range would come in handy on that guy, barb tank so veno pets are free to wreak havoc. That boss is annoying as heck and maybe it wouldn't be that handy. I saw someone asking if a barb can solo that boss, with +2 range axes then maybe lol.

    Hey Lunko,

    The +2 range on dragonhunt is kinda useful in very specific circumstances (as people above have said) but on the whole, other stats are much more useful. People who are using dragonhunt axes generailly have them because of their grade, which when refining means that they get pretty high base damage after +8 or so.

    In my experience, provoke fires about 1 in 20 hits, so your 5% guess is right on the money!
