i'm planning to start playing PW but before i start i want to have some tips and questions answered.
1. what server is the most alive? PVP and PVE servers. in terms of pvp? partying? community? social? cause i dont want to play in an almost empty server and boring people.
2. what is the difference between pvp/pve? are all player in pvp server killable within certain levels?
3. im new and starting from nothing and knows nothing much. what class are beginner friendly and easy to level? if not dependent in $$ then its good.
4. what things should i really really know when i start? tips? hints? guides?
5. anyone want to be my friend? just for fun dont worry i wont beg. grinding is boring when youre pushing buttons and clickings.

None of the servers are empty. Archosaur is newest, followed by raging tide.
PVP and PVE servers are identical - except that at level 30 on a PVP server you are forced to be pvp enabled (and can then kill and be killed by anyone else pvp enabled) whereas on a pve server it is an option from level 30 onwards (and you can change back)
Obviously, this means there's a lot more pvp on the pvp servers. And no, there's no level-range restrictions. You can, and will, be ganked by high level players.
There are safe zones (near towns, and most instances) where pvp is disabled.
Most newbie friendly and cheapest-early-on classes are venomancer, cleric, barbarian and psychic. (In, more or less, that order)
Tips? Read the newbie forum. There's a fair few basic tips there. The games quite good (though not perfect) at introducing you to the things you need to know via starter quests.
Do your quests!0 -
1. I like to believe that all servers have the same population right now... except for Raging Tide because it's fairly new. Who knows?
2. If you play a PvE Server, you have a choice of entering Pk-Mode or not. If you play a PvP Server, you're automatically in Pk-Mode once you reach lvl 30. And it's not nice to get Rpk every time when you're doing quests (especially in the 30s - 50s). You are very vulnerable.
3. Beginner Friendly Class would be the Venomancers. Their skills don't cost much mana and they have a pet to tank most damage for them. They have self-skills that heals health and mana, and they rarely have to repair their armor.
4. Don't ask people for money..

about the server, you didnt answer which one is the most alive right now? or you can just tell which one has the most population? pve and pvp server.0

There's really no way to tell which server has a larger population. You'll just have to pick one and play. But my guess would be Lost City, Heaven's Tear, and another one (I forgot which) since those were the first released servers when PWI came out.
If you want PWI Drama, try the PvP ones. There are also Drama going on in the PvE Servers, but not as much as on the PvP ones. From time to time, there are usually Pk-Wars (I'm not talking about territorial) going on somewhere with some random people... and they sometimes bring it onto World Chat! It's very amusingb:chuckle
You can be doing WQ and before you know it, your WQ is already over! ..Due to the fun on World Chatb:laugh0 -
Nope, can't tell you. I, and most people, don't actually have characters on every server.
I can tell you the population on dreamweaver is just fine (though there's a lack of low and mid levels right now, because everyone who has been starting alts has been doing so on the new servers)0 -

I think Dreamweaver is a good choice if you want a PVE server. For most part folks are friendly and helpful. I don't actually mind less low levels on it because there is just enough to find groups when needed but not so many that all the quest areas are crowded with people killing the same things.Laurrixa - 64 Sin0 -
PvE servers, you can choose whether or not to be PK enabled. However, this can lead to issues... people camping you and KSing you (kill stealing), harassment, and generally rude behavior that you can't really do anything about. On a PvP server, harassment of this sort can be fixed by having friends or faction members help you remedy the situation. Instead of needing to ticket customer support for harassment or greifing, the population of a PvP server generally polices itself.
If you go white named on a PvE server, from what I've heard at least, you're far more likely to be ganked than if you are on a PvP server, where everyone is a white name. The 'fresh meat' effect of going white name on a PvP server kinda dies out the higher you level, and from what I understand, it never does if you're on a PvE server. Too many people wanting to PvP and not enough people willing to select PK enabled.
I would say, of course, to pick a PvP server... mostly because if you DO decide to play this game until you hit 9x-10x, you'll be able to PvP more than just in TW.
Of course, PvE doesn't really mean what it used to on Perfect World. Most of your time is now spent inside a safe zone, so the whole PvP/PvE choice doesn't matter as much.I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.0 -
1. I don't really have a proper reply to that since I haven't tried a PvP server, but I'd say that none of the servers here are all that empty. Seems like it has been happening things all over. Ofc as a dreamweaver fan, I say join'em. We're not dead. b:chuckle
2. This has been nicely explained by all the people above here
3. Veno's definatly. I see someone said cleric and being a cleric I disagree with that. Of course, it's the easiest class to get to know people in squads and all, but it's not all that easy to become a good one with heals and buffs etc etc. Not to mention the expenses o_O;; That being said, I've leveled most classes(apart from the barbarian and the assasin) to level 20, and I do by far prefer being a cleric, even if I'm somewhat of a beginner at this.
4. Go to the class forum for whatever class you picks(also nice to figure out what class you'd like to play), and the newbie section.
5. Join dreamweaver and give me your name and I'll whisper you. New friends are always good and I'd surely like to be yours as well So join join join, yes?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

1) Only server I've really played on is Sanctuary, and it is pretty alive.
Lost City is also alive as a PvP server.
Both as far as I know are pretty great.
2) In PvP, you're permanently in PK at level 30. Anyone can kill you unless you are in a safe zone.
3) Veno's are great money makers. However, buying a herc (tank pet) will cost about 30mil coins. However, after you get that, you can solo certain instances (Twilight Temple for example) and earn those coins back.
4) Go to the class forum for whatever character you will be playing and look there.
5) If you join Sanctuary, I'll be your friend.
Name in game is MistaBwanden0 -
1) I think social, drama, squading etc is the same on both pvp and pve servers. When it comes to the pvp/pk part, i guess it woudl be logical that it is more common on pvp servers, but it also find place every day on pve servers.
2) (i think this was answered ill do it anyways =P) Pvp: forced into a constatant PK mode from the lvl of 30. When u dies in PK u might lose stuff, even stuff u got equiped. PvE: You can choose to go in pk mode, u will be locked in pk mode for 10hours from the moment u activate it. on PvE servers its really mostly the higher lvls pking.
3) like others said Veno is a good starter class. Most classes get a pain-in-the-**** when u hit around lvl25 i think, and they do best in squads. The veno being able to hold mobs away with its pet can solo its way through normal quests and grinding. On attack power its slightly weaker than the rest. Also around lvl30 it gets a hp and mp heal, which means low mana/hp pot cost (compared to other classes)
4) I suggest once u picked a class to look at the PWI Wiki, it holds some nice guides on how to buidl a good char ^^. Join a faction maybe, so that you got some ppl you can ask for help when you need it. Squading with ppl in general is a way to learn to know new ppl. umm make sure to get the tele spots in each city ^^. Stop using tele constantly at lvl 30 when u learn to fly =P.
5) If u join DreamsWeaver feel free to pm me in game on Sinalee (with L) im european, and im runnign a faction called GhostDogz, many of the guys there like to help and learn to know new ppl .
A good start.
As a new player i suggest you at least start out on a PvE server.
Pick the class that suits u the best (look below for little more info)
Figure out how to build your class (either ask others, find out yourself, or look on guides)
Be open and talkative and u will fast find friends .
Go and have A LOT of fun =P.
Classes:
Mages:
- Wizard (Wiz): One of two Mage types that deal extreamly high magic dmg. Low hp and phy def, huge mag def and mag att and lots of mp. U can kill a mob almost before it reach u (later u can push mobs back). Long lasting aoe! (fire, water, earth skills)
- Psychic (Psy): the other of the heavy mag dmg dealing mages. New class (i didn't play much) got soem nice buffs, low hp, phy def high mag def, and lots of mp. nice short time aoe skills. huge mag def and mag att. get push back skill
- Cleric (Cler): the healer of the game. Various healing skills, long range phy att skill, long range metal (mag type) skills. Debuffs, massive amount of buffs, high dmg (not as high as psy/wiz). Mobs will reach u as a cler, but ur heals save u (often only land one hit). low hp phy def, lot of mp, mag def and mag att.
- Venomancer(Veno): Per user, no push back but pet "hold-back" the mobs. low phy def, hp and mag att (low low mag att compared to other mages). Pet add phy dmg, while u deal mag dmg. Nice de-buff skills. WereFox and human form. Fox form deal phy dmg. Lots of mp and mag def. Got mp/hp healing skill. (a normal build veno don't make good use of the attacks in fox form, cuz of low phy dmg)
Melee:
- Blademaster (BM): Come with 4 weapon pathes of skills. Often you start out with focus on one path, later then on 1 extra. BMs come in various builds, depending on weapon path. Good hit rate, phy dmg, phy def. Bad, mag def, mag dmg. Can be used for tanking bosses. A good protection class (protects the squad). got rush forward and backwards skills.
- Assassin (Sin): New (don't know much) Low hp, phy def. Nice bad-effect-buffs. Can go in stealth mode. Fast class, high crit rate, hit rate, accu, and evation. Good dmg. Bad mag def, and def in general. Melee type (unlike the other classes with low phy def (mages)). Would probably be focused on PvP rather than PvE.
Archers (Arch): UPS NOT MELEE. (elfs don't have melee but then the "heavyer" class). Like Sin focused on crit rate, hit rate, accu, evation. Low def in general, use light armor. Far distance (to greater distance the greater att dmg) this is the class if u liek to CRIT (or the sins). Get push back later, for better survival.
- Barbarian (barb/Tank): The tank of pwi. Huge hp, Huge phy def, buffs that make these two even better! Low mag att, hit rate, crit rate, accu, evation, mag def (always add mag def gear). Good agro holding skills. awfull mp x_X. trasform into Tigerform for NICE speed and even more def hp =P.
Thats the classes. Try find out if u wanna be ranged or melee. If ranged then heavy dmg dealer (wiz/psy) supporter (cler) or safe solo type (veno, can tank with some pets, don't have to solo) or phy dmg dealer with lots of crit (archer). If melee do u wanna crit alot and let go of some def (Sin) or have decent hit rate but good melee def (BM), or tank and lead the squad forward, killing bosses with your claws, but wiht a sad hit rate (Barb).
Well Welcom to PWI hope u will have fun0 -
u can always try a pve and a pvp server to see which one suits you better.
i'm in a pvp server and i love it,since i'm a pkr,and yes, people with low lvl's get pkd a lot,but that can be helped if you get some one to gank them b:sin :P
and idk about most servers,i've only been in harshlands and heaven's tear, but pvp seems funnier to me since u can make your own justice as u go along, and therefore you don't really need gm's if some one harasses you or so b:angry0 -
i think im going to dreamweaver lots of people who answered my here says dreamweaver. thanks. i'm going to make a psychic named iDevilante. i'll try to add people who left there names here. thanks a lot.0
