Genie Skills

Alright, I'm trying to decide what skills to give my Infliction genie. I already have Blinding Sand and Tangling Mire, to aid my pet or barb friend. What other two skills should I get? I'm considering Second Wind for healing, and it works perfectly with my genie's high strength. I was looking at Leaf Dance, but ... is it really worth it, just for an extra 2% crit chance? And how long does Extreme Poison last at level 35, almost 40?
I forgot to mention, this is PVE only.

b:sweat You're using a 35/40 LP genie for Blinding Sand and Tangling Mire?
Don't have any numbers on EP (mine is just maxed) but is Dex based. It's a must for Venos although i'm not sure how convenient it would be too skill on a Str based genie. Second Wind is the way to go.
http://www.ecatomb.net/genieskill.php Look for Str based skills here...0 -
No no no, I meant, levels 35, almost 40. ^_^U
My bad.[Insert pithy quote here.]0 -
I think tangling mire and second wind are good choices for your str genie. It's hard to say for extreme poison, just because it is more dex based. Don't forget holy path though. It's useful in nifty situations0
-
Tangling Mire is near useless you're able to AoE grind or running RB or FF. Might come in handy for TW, but i think you might want to use the energy on skills like Mantle Ripple of Death instead.
Leaf Dance is not the best skill for Venos at low-mid levels.
And it's ok on LP, OP. For all i knew you a had a rocking strategy.b:thanks0 -
Isn't Mantle Ripple of Death more PVP?[Insert pithy quote here.]0

Lol, yeah, i was commenting on TW.0

Yeah, but I'm not doing TW.[Insert pithy quote here.]0

these are the skills i have for my dex based genie
earthquake for if a mob gets to close
extreme poison for when i use amplify damage
holy path to get out of stick situations or to save someones but
ToP a friend told me to put this on sense im going dex based
& if im lucky enough to be able to get a 5th skill slot im thinking of puting wind shield i believe its calledCollector of pet eggs, armor, weapons, fashion, and mountsb:chuckle0 -
Hmmm. Why Wind Shield?
Yeah, EP and ToP are basically useless to me, me being str based......[Insert pithy quote here.]0 -
Is this genie going to be for you veno? If it's str based, I don't think second wind is a bad option. Good heal for casters at the very least in tight situations0
-
Okay, I have nabbed Second Wind, and I absolutely love it. With 30 points in STR, it heals over half my HP. Combined with Soul Transfusion ... I shall never pot again. *.*
Now I just need to figure out a 4th skill. I hear Earthquake is good for PvE? Why is this? In case I get mobbed and need some breathing room?[Insert pithy quote here.]0 -

It does that, but mainly it's an interrupt. 100% chance at level 10.
Stupidly expensive on chi-stones, but an interrupt is an interrupt.0 -
So, are you saying you would recommend Earthquake, or against it? Or is there another skill you would recommend?[Insert pithy quote here.]0

Get earthquake, it is the only 100% change of interrupt skill you will get..... Since, as a class, we do not get a single interrup skill. Very useful for boss fighting.Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and slap that mother#$@%#^! upside the head.0 -

But isn't it centered around yourself? So wouldn't you have to be right up close to the boss for it to be useful?
Also, I have a question about Holy Path. "Increases the movement speed of yourself to the max for 3.9 seconds." What exactly does that mean?
I'm beginning to get the feeling this game was badly translated.....[Insert pithy quote here.]0 -

Yes, it has only a range of 10 meters around yourself, so you will have to be pretty darn close to the boss. However, it is the only 100% interrupt skill we can get as venos, that is why I would recommend it.
Holy path makes your character run at 15m/s for x.x amount of seconds. That is the maximun speed.Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and slap that mother#$@%#^! upside the head.0 -
Yes, you need to be up close.
But then, if you interrupt successfully, it doesn't matter that you're up close and in aoe range - you just interrupted the aoe.
Failure would be bad, though
The other one is Lightning Chaser. Which has a better range, but isn't a dead-certain interrupt any more.0 -
On the other paw (as it were), if I were up so close to the boss I would probably be in fox form, casting Amp, Befuddlign Mist, and Leech, so I guess it's a moot point. =p[Insert pithy quote here.]0

If you were to get 100 dex points on your genie I think you would get 100% interrupt with lighting chaser.....Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Yes, but once again, I feel the need to point out the fact that my genie is a STR-based genie. Not DEX. STR.[Insert pithy quote here.]0

it does not matter.....
earthquake chance increases with SKILL LEVEL, not with dexterity. Dex only increases the damage the skill does, which is irrelevant for what we would be using the skill for.
Another advantage to using earthquake is that is has a knockback feature, yet one more thing, we as venos do not have in our skills.Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and slap that mother#$@%#^! upside the head.0 -
Sorry, I was responding to your point on Lightning Chaser. =p[Insert pithy quote here.]0

Lightning Chaser is not that bad. If you have a high DEX genie, the % of success would be pretty high. Although, 100% beats all with earthquake. I like to play it safe with chaser because of the 25 meter range. b:victory0

Mmmm, yes, but again, my genie will never have more than 5 DEX, so that is useless to me. =p[Insert pithy quote here.]0

In that case, definitely go for the earthquake. I personally have a dex genie so the % rate is higher for mine. I just like Chaser better due to the play-it-safe and the fact you can use it on air and water.....although hardly likely compared to using it on the ground for bosses in TT0 -
I see. Thanks for the tip.[Insert pithy quote here.]0
