Quick Opinion Question

Hey there everyone.

I was planning on making a Cleric within the next few days, and while I understand pretty much every aspect of the gig, there's still the matter of the weapons I don't understand.

So, out of the four(I believe) mystical weapons, I'd like you to post which one you prefer to use and why, thus helping me to find those who have the same gameplay style and find which weapon would best suit me, kay?

    1. Wand - lowest variability in magic attack. Everybody seems to prefer these, basically since your heals are much more constant

    2. Magic Sword - second least variability in magic attack. Depending on the adds, these can be better/more wanted than wands (Sakyamuni's Light is the basically the best 70 weapon, and most would prefer it to the 70 wand).

    3. Glaive - second most variability

    4. Pataka - most variability

    At least for PvE. PvP it could be a toss up - I could definitely think of some times in the past where a couple high attacks on a glaive could have been more useful than the constantness of a magic sword.

    Keep in mind, though, that you really don't get much choice here until level 70. Before that:

    Low levels: use the best weapon you can find. Whatever has the highest average magic attack

    <20 - The latest quest weapon

    20 - The FB wand is probably better than the officer's sword

    30-40 You'll want a new weapon sometime in here. Buy or craft one

    43 - Wheel of Fate is the best weapon until 50, but it's not a necessity (I've never used one, since I never had the money that early in the game). Otherwise find another 2 or 3 star if you can

    48 - If you didn't get the Wheel of Fate, the reward from killing Viridus Stormhorn (quest) is a nice 2 star

    50 - General Summer's Magicsword is the best weapon until 60, but not worth the 5 gold when you could buy a Wheel of Fate for much less

    60 - Ancient Arbor (TT60). Only real choice here

    You need to find out what suits you the best.I like Swords the best but would use glaives and wands.I am not to big on patakas for Cleric look much better on Veno.

    at later lvls there is not enough wands/sword/glavies to just choose one type and follow


    most likely you will choose weapons by bonus adds (mag, channel, crit etc.)

    I like to pick my weapon based on looks though. For me, pataka's are the only real weapon to use. b:dirty

    but don't use patakas >.<

    they have a HUGE difference between min and max matk =~
    and they are ugly, clerics dont look nice with them .-.

    Unless a wep is significantly better than another, I'll choose based on looks. The whole bendy arm thing with patakas just can't beat the badassness of a little female char holding a giant glowing sword. For real.

    wands - smallest difference from min to max attack.
    swords - Middleground between wands and glaives.
    glaives/patakas - largest difference between min to max attack. Highest burst damage.

    now for PVE your going to want to use swords or wands. This is because constant heals are better then burst heals.

    for pvp your gonna want glaives. Cuz pretty much your hoping to hit max damage and crit with your 2% crit rate for a win.

    thats the logic behind it. id still use a wand for both tho =/

    yea like some said before its not a oh i like wands ima use them from 1-99. your gonna be switching around alot.

    heres what i used to level...

    22-43 mirage sword
    43-60 wheel of fate
    60-70 tt60 sword
    70-80 tt70 sword
    and got my tt80 sword ready for 80-90 :)

    I was refining stuff a few days go and I realized something weird:

    bottom damage seemed to increase more than top damage by about 50%. Which made me realize that weapon choice might be somewhat dependent on refine levels. So if this is the case then choices would change based upon your desired refine level. But if someone has evidence showing that refine changes low damage equally with high damage, please show me.

    From what I gather; sounds like I should grab whatever has the best attack till lvl70; and then after 70 get whatever looks nice =3

    And a resounding consensus of no patakas ever. lol

    This, Paramedic. But, I would still vouch for patakas. I mean who can resist a Cleric with a huge pataka on it <3 ? Just because male clerics don't look good with it...

    Its the lvl 50 supply stash. You'll need 1 perfect iron hammer to open it though.

    I like the swords until L80 then I got the TT80 glaive so I could have it for the TT99 Glaive addons. Of course, that was for my veno and I'm doing the same thing for my cleric. The TT90 sword (one of them) has a nice VIT add if you're looking for that. But I like patakas too, however, they only look good with my veno. ;) She's got Midnight Black to play with.
