Public Quest Question / Rules Violation?

The scenario:
Public Quest for levels 60-80.
Level 90+ veno with herc squadded with another... which appears to be a 70 cleric since he seems to be easily outscoring everyone even without attacking very much. Veno has obviously not taken the quest because of level requirement. Clerics score doesn't advance like anyone elses that would indicate he's in squad with others that have taken the quest. Monitoring the cleric his score advances even while flying and not attacking.
Questions: Allowed? Rules violation?

its allowed. score is squad based, since cleric is squaded with someone who cant share points, he still gets full points.0

Certainly sounds like abusing an in-game glitch though.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Thanks for the sig Ophida0 -
Hm. Simply sounds like a clever use of squadding to me. Then again, I don't really know much about the rules of PQ...The only sin to go from 1 to 102 completely nude b:cool0

TBH only a looser would ask for help from a much higher level. Either that or this is some dumb jock multiboxing. Either way it's unfair and disrespectful to other players but... Perfectly legitimate. I must admit i don't find any rules being broken. They are well within their right to be jerks on this one.0

yes, cause he can multibox he MUST be a dumb jock. omg! what a revelation.0 -

Only time I asked my hubby to help me on a public quest was the first time I ever did one on my cleric. I scored just as good with him as without. But being as how it was nasty on repairs, I never asked him to help me after that. Only did those a few times before she hit 81. Had to make sure I could keep enough coins on her lol.
But I see how its unfair. I can also see how it would be nice cause if someone else is doing the work for you, you get free exp. =/ Not a really good trade IMO. Sounds too much like botting._Jaysun_'s Wife

public quest is control how much DAMAGE you do as a single person.
more damage you do you will be rank higher.
I have bought my cleric there for many different lvls.
I can easily burn up to like 30-40 pots in single PQ.
All the healing I do for squad = hardly anything cause the quest is control
by damage..
by the logic of the PQ any cleric that heals would hardly get much from the quest.
but yet people like you would like to have a cleric in squad to keep you alive.
At the end in your mind that healer are not entitle to get better reward then you.
are you bi tching here cause someone else find a way to get more medal
then you do or you just complain for the sack of it.
FYI you are those few that does the PQ and try to solo for more medals.
but when you die you beg for rez and if someone dont bother with you.
then you see some bi tching and whinning..0 -
Just give other people a chance to score some medals, sins and psys most always gets the top spot in that pq anyways.0

Actually no, Clerics do get points for healing. You should squad with people actaully ranking on top.
And FYI this has nothing to do with bringing higher levels who can't themselves be involved in the competition...0 -
Tbh, while on my cleric doing PQ, rarely was it that people expected me to heal them. They even seemed shocked when i volunteered the act.
After doing a PQ session where I mostly healed out of a squad, I got like 6 medals or something. While in a squad, the one doing most damage, even though I rarely needed to heal anyone I still only got 8 medals.
And that's start to finish.
Your pots.. you talking event ones or regular apoth pots? Cause my cleric went through waaaaay more apoth pots than she would event ones lol._Jaysun_'s Wife

Lol I never had any issues with who was on top. I just didn't give a dang cause to me, I only wanted the exp. If there's some big ol' fancy prize at the end... not sure there was/is, the only thing it had better be is like a mil in coins rofl.
To me, the best part about PQ was just the exp. But I can't answer for everyone b:surrender_Jaysun_'s Wife

Allowed or not allowed, it sure is a poor way to get points.
I don't complain because someone "beats" me in PQ. I make this point because someone is intentionally weighing the competition to their favor...
Another instance that's completely allowed:
My girlfriend was on a PQ and another person admitted they were multi-boxing but BOTH of their characters were at the right level .
My girlfriend was in 1st place and the other person had one of their characters in second place. It was obvious that he was not going to overtake 1st so he utilized his 2nd character (an archer) to begin attacking the same mobs as my girlfriend so as to steal points away from her intentionally. Ultimately this allowed him to keep close enough as to win via random points. VERY unsportsmanlike.
This too is unsportsmanlike.
If clerics squad they get points... THIS IS OBVIOUS. The 90+ veno was doing all the killing and the 70 cleric got ALL the points.
There is at least a bug in the system here. IF this is going to be allowable, then there should be a penalty.
If I am a squad of 2, then points are divided by 2. Squad of 3.. Then divided by 3.
There should be a system that if you bring a character that has not taken or cannot take the quest then points are divided and the character without the quest forfeits the points and they are lost... not given to the rest of the party.
Given this, I could bring 5 other 90+ characters and they could all attack and my one valid character would reap 100% of the points.
Very unfair indeed. Imagine 5 90+ characters pounding on the final bosses giving all points to the valid quest-er.
Think about it.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

It already is like that. Or at least close. Testing has been done.0 -

Read her post more closely. The line you quoted, was not her suggestion, that was her stating the current setup. She knows its already like that. It was the paragraph right afterwards which was her suggestion;
"There should be a system that if you bring a character that has not taken or cannot take the quest then points are divided and the character without the quest forfeits the points and they are lost... not given to the rest of the party."
So If the cleric is in a squad with someone not in the valid level range. & say (arbitrarily) they get 4 points for a kill. Its still divided by 2, the cleric gets 2, and the 90+ person's share of 2 is discarded, rather then the cleric getting all 4.0 -

Dude, i started doing PQ as soon as it was made available. Wether the mechanism actually involves Clerics getting points for HP healed or wether the gain comes from being squaded with players that, relying on heals, can devote their full attention to damage dealing, Clerics i've seen getting top spots before random was added after doing nothing but heal. This is fact, go back to regularly PQing and try thinking this time instead of rolling your face all over the keyboard...0 -

This. You don't get points directly from heals.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

If you read the post i was responding to you'll find it was implied healing was not a worthwhile activity in PQ. This is what i was responding to, i wasn't arguing about the mechanics involved... And i did suggest the poster should squad with top rankers...0 -

And, if you have a party that knows what they are doing a single high level character is not going to be able to accumulate more points.0 -

I believe this, but soloed anyway still getting top prize most often. Gotta love it when someone tries squadding me while they still have more points than me or they want me to heal their Herc because they have less points. Both bosses for 95+ are soloable by veno but so not worth tanking as it kills DPS.Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0 -
any chance we can get a GM to weigh in on this one? ive seen people being "carried" at PQ relentlessly and was under the impression that it was against the rules.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0
