New Strategy

I'm a level 38 LA Venomancer, and I'm working on a new method for fighting bosses. I don't use this on normal enemies, but against bosses it seems to work well. I team up with my barbarian friend (Mohingan) and summon my Crystalline Golem (Everest) and here's what we do.

1) My friend, the barbarian, takes aggro and takes all the damage.

2) I spam Befuddling Mist and my genie's Blinding Sand.

3) Everest provides extra damage.

4) Monster dies.

The best part is, Mohingan uses far fewer pots and charms because the boss hits him less, thanks to Blinding Sand.

But what I want to know is, do you, the community, have any tips for this particular strategy? Specific skills I should level up? Equipment I should get? Other moves I should use in the battle?

You can befuddle as much as you want, in the end it's mostly better to just nuke the mob with magic saving him even more time/damage taken.

Blinding sand doesn't work anymore. The description says it lowers accuracy, but when I tested it after the nerf, all it does is lower attack speed (and presumably channeling). It had no effect on accuracy.

Befuddling Mist by itself can help reduce the amount of damage taken. But because hitting is probability-based, a short streak of bad luck can lead to a dead tank.

At high levels, even barbs have trouble holding aggro against archers and wizards. So you want to Bramble them so they get more aggro from reflect damage. Using Befuddling Mist lowers the amount of reflect damage, making it easier for archers and wizards to steal aggro. So it's a risky strategy at higher levels.

Well, admittedly I haven't had a chance to test it against FB bosses, but against bosses like Shade Eido (with 30k HP) we've noticed a dramatic drop in the number of potions used.

Befuddling and Blinding sand working in combination is not new by any means. Before blinding sand was changed.. using these two skill together meant a 100% decrease in acc.... but not anymore. Sure you can go about doing it that way on weak bosses like shade eido, but as some has said, its better the Barb gets hit to keep up reflect damage for more argo. There is no need to bump this thread and it should pretty much be ended right now. Blinding sand is atm reducing attack rate and casting speed.. not accuracy. I'm pretty sure on this, because i use it often while soloing FB bosses.

I kinda meant it's new *to me*. >_>

But in-game it says it Blinding Sand decreases accuracy, right there in the description. So you can frogive me being more than a little confused here. O.o

I just figure, if I'm casting Amplify Damage and Purge, I'm going to be in fox form anyways, right? So why not use Blinding Sand, along with Leech and maybe Fox Wallop?

As you'll come to learn, the skill descriptions in this game are.... less than accurate. Trust us when we say blinding sand no longer decreases accuracy.
