Same name on different servers?

Is it possible? i.e. obviously my avatar AeonieX is on Heaven's Tear..could i use AeonieX on say..Sanctuary as well?

    Yeah it's possible. I've got XanZerstorer on DW and RT (and Sanc I believe too, due a mistake I made...), and a couple other names on several servers. I suck at finding names, this gets handy for me.

    Alright thanks, can use name i used for my cleric main on Sanctuary before i quit ages ago, for a cleric alt on Heaven's Tear which is my server now. :)

    Actually, I believe the namedatabase was shared between the three first servers (HT, LC, Sanc).
    You can get different names on the newer servers, though.

    Somebody else took up Drazo on Sanctuary, otherwise yes this could be so (at least several months ago).

    Sanctuary and heavens tear share a namespace for some reason but every other server has their own.

    Maybe they wanted to be able to merge sanctuary and heavens tear if they had to since they are both pve.

    I don't know why but its true. My name is reserved in all servers except Sanctuary and none of my alts names can be used either.

    Hmm, this is like one of times in Who Wants to be a Millionaire where "ask the audience" gives the wrong answer.


    In fact, name databases are linked into four different groups:


    PvE West: HT, Sanc, Archosaur

    PvP West: Lost City

    PvE East: DW, RT

    PvP East: Harshlands

    Ditto again, I have a SylenThunder on every server

    Edit: oohh I take that back, looked on HT and don't have one there, says name is taken. go to send mail and recipient does not exist.

    However I have a Psy on RT with the name and a Cleric on DW with the same name, so it looks like maybe it's really only Sanc and HT, and the unknowable possibility of the new server. I will most certainly find out next wendsday.

    Yep, my mistake, Raging Tide and Dreamweaver are not name-linked; however, I'm pretty sure Archosaur will be linked with HT and Sanc, so be ready for that.
