Woah.. this really explains why im better with sins then any other class..
    The Assassin

Assassins are not fighters, they are specialists.

As mentioned above, the Assassin is a specialist and not a fighter. The Assassin's skill set is designed for a more technical and indirect way of fighting.

I quit. Nothing ever changes @ PWE or PW CN . Expansion was over hyped. Guild bases (that looked cool) can be destroyed, so why waste the time if your a in a small faction like me.

Here's a real path 2 follow, Arktone's is so wrong.
    Skills to level up:

    Wolf Emblem

    Focused Mind

    Rib Strike

    Shadow Escape

    Throatcut

Chill of The Deep (this one depends but I PvP as much as I can and know the value of using it)

    Head Hunt

    Shadow Teleport

    Dagger Devotion

Sharp Observer (If you are on a PK server you will value this)

    Cat-Like Tread

Why do I not mention skills like deaden nerves or bloodpaint? Well level 1 of those until you can afford to max all skills is about all you need early on.

Do you really choose to ignore skills like deep sting and knife throw? I did not ignore them but levelling them past lvl 1 really is not much of a priority. However where you can its never a bad idea to put a level on shadow jump (once again if you are going to pvp).

Are you mad? Why not level punture wound or slipstream strike!! Well because I find I use them less and less the higher I level. Ok yeah mabey I should have put slipstream strike on the list since its one of your best heavy damage skills for quite a while but to be honest its not a skill I find myself leaning on heavily.

What about raving slash? Its raving madness. I actually preferred it when it gave you the speed boost as opposed to slowing down the target! Now I know you are mad! Well not so. As I have learned on the PvP server battles change positions and they are not all 1v1. The problem with a lot of what I read with regards to PvP comments is that they almost always assume 1v1 on the ground without genie skills, pots etc. Thats not real PvP though! So wrt to raving slash I actually liked being able to hit a target (any target) just for a quick speed boost. What will I do with a slow when I got tackling slash, shadow teleport and shadow jump?

Anyway have fun with your sin.

As I gather more experience I am beginning to see that the choice between skill spamming (using chill of the deep buff) versus sparking your regular attack (the attack speed purist) is more of a personal choice than a which one is clearly better choice.

At my current level there are times when attack speed is the best solution and at other times I buff with chill of the deep and skill spam (spam sounds so noob, like you are just hitting random buttons), mabey I should say buff with chill of the deep and use the skills appropriate to the situation.

From the economic standpoint the attack speed sin can get by with minimal mp pot usage. On the other hand I find that when using chill of the deep I use less hp pots (due to using the sparks for stuns and using throatcut). Economics wise the attack speed build is better though. I use far less money when I just spark and attack.

From a dps standpoint with a good pair of daggers the attack speed build wins hands down. I can take out mobs far faster using spark or spark+ than buffing with chill of the deep and using skills. However in some instances attack speed is not all important. In group situations for instance you focus more on using skills that aid the group. I find that in dungeons or other party situations I am actually very helpful in terms of crowd control. Furthermore using shadow jump and shadow teleport I can navigate multi mob/pvp situation rather effectively. Thow in shadow walk and shadow escape and I end up being a utility player in groups as opposed to the current belief that sins are simply dds. For groups though chill of the deeps 10 minute cooldown is a bit of a hindrance at times. Overall I would say that chill of the deep is a choice you have to be sure about before you cast that buff (be sure that for the next 10 minutes you can live with the reduced attack speed).

From a survival standpoint buffs and genie skills are more important than what mode of damage you choose (speed or skills). For instance second wind is a must for sins and I have even seen higher level sins having both sw and top (they must have high vit+mag genies). Also if you are going the speed route windshield is a very cheap way to get 1.43 attack speed and you also get a bit of damage reduction. Also to survive you must know when and where to use your shadow skills.

Overall the attack speed build has better bang for the buck than the skill spam (cringes) build and once interval gear adds into the equation the balance shifts further in its favor. That is why the list of skills I suggest for levelling focus less on the pure attack skills and more on the skills that carry useful aids such as buffs, stuns and stealth. The major case for using chill of the deep and hence the reason why you may still need to level some of your damage skills along the way is that in PvP chill of the deep still remains the best option for defeating enemies for me.

In duels and pk I try both ways and I find far more success using chill of the deep + skills than using spark + regular attacks. However that may simply be a reflection of my playstyle and gears.

Here's a real path 2 follow, Arktone's is so wrong.

Really, I can say if I want that everyone is wrong and the only ones you should level up are Rib Strike and Dagger Devotion, but I'm not. ArkToNE has given his -opinion- on the matter. It doesn't make him wrong, it just means he has found what has worked best for him. Anyone who follows a guide completely is just a copy of another person, so really everyone should have their own play style. After all, there is a reason it is called a guide and not an order. You don't have to follow what someone else says. However, don't say he is wrong because he found what works best for him.

    I Started a Assasin and i choosed the Hybrid mode. Str 1, Dex4 and Str1, Vit1 and Dex3.
But... on 13 lvl i haven't got enough atribute points for helmet. And i calculated that i wont have enough on 21 lvl too. Whats the prob?

    Now I'm 14 lvl and i have :
    Str 20, Vit10, Dex 50...
    is it good?

    My second question is...
    can i continue adding 4dex 1 str.
no vitality anymore... is enough 10?

Assassin's are not meant to (naturally) wear the heavy helms. If you are worried about HP, go full Vit build and you will always have more HP from this than you will getting the helms for their HP.

You can go full Dex from here out, but that just means you wasted 5 points on Vit, as 10 Vit isn't going to be much better than 5 Vit. If you want to go full Dex, I would suggest you first get your Vit up to somewhere between 25 and 50, and then go full Dex. This way your Vit will have a better effect for you, and you will be able to still go full Dex after. However, I personally have always liked the hybrid/Vit builds, so my personal suggestion from experience with Assassins is to stick to one of those, especially if you are new to the game. Full Dex is better for the veteran player and those who just want to do a lot of PvP.

    Great guide!
So far I have found standard hits to be useless, I am going absalute pure dex. I find its best to string a bunch of combos, and for that matter pretend standard hits never existed, I agree that bloodpaint is great but no building past lvl 1. I believe for assissan its best to base your entire attack off beating that single target with as little HP loss as possible, so I use TONS of MP, but thats okay for me because assassin for me is more about waiting, being ready, and only striking if you are 100% sure you are ready to take on this enemy and its surroundings. And the quicker you kill the less chance of dying you have!
A simple slip, a single mistake, one uncontrolled thought, or the slightest sound, and you fail.

However, if you move in silence, know your powers and weaknesses, be prapared for anything, always know your surroundings, never cast a shadow, know how to wait yet be ready to jump when the time is right.

You may survive, to be a master of swift death, and a chief of all that is unseen. Never let your pride be stronger than your brain, nor let your anger be your drive, or you will fail. And most importantly remember this, a good assassin is not the one who is well known, or credited with their doings. It is the one who is unknown, and never credited for either right or wrong.
