I guess this is sort of directed to Cleric/Venos with healing; do you have a method to jam down your healing key? I know you can repeat a skill-combo macro, but for those times when the only thing you can do is hold down ironheart/Petheal, how do you do it?

i use a penny. i see u use F4 for pet heal. i use F4 for summon/unsummon pet. F6 is my heal pet. 1 and 3 are my ironheart, depending on which skill bar i have up atm.

If I jam a skill it just lags me. Last time I jammed my pet heal I DC'd and the boss killed me.

I used to use 4 for pet heals as well, then Vivre reset my hotkeys to hers, and my pet heal went to F4 v.v

    I tape it down. :P

...well I would if I ever had to constantly heal like that.
but I learned in another game in a certain place that taping down my keys works.

yxh%20(20).gifI also use a penny or a spoon when someone displaces my penny for some reason I can always find a spoon near my desk but the pennies keep disappearing.

yxh%20(72).gifI use to use a clip of staples until my other keyboard broke and I had to get a new one. yxh%20(108).gifAnd this keyboard's keys were WAY too big to be held down by staples so I had to switch to pennies and spoons.

I use my finger to hold down "2", the key I've got my pet healing set on. And then if I need to, I let go during casting, hit "1" to feed my pet, then go back to holding "2" to keep it alive. Or during the casting period hit "ALT+#" to trigger a pet skill, then go back to holding down "2".

More than you ever really wanted to know about button mashing -- check.

I don't need to feed my pet because I have a tome, but I do occasionally have to hit Nature's Grace or Soul Transfuse (followed by Metabolic Boost or genie heal) when running low on mana. I suppose if I didn't have to do this ever and was tanking a long fight, I might check into the button jamming idea.

Um, wouldn't that count as an exploit of some sort? It sure as heck looks like one, other than the part about messing with the game files.

yxh%20(32).gif Not in the slightest its no different then holding down the key. You are capable of programing your keys to do what you want why shouldn't you be able to hold down a key?

I set up a system of weights and pulleys with the force amp to the desired amount and direct it over the key in question. Wait... no... I just hit normal attack and troll the forum...

Could be used in some system that is alike to afk-leveling.

    Is it a concern?

It'd be useful for clerics who are either falling asleep or alt+tabbing while the rest of us panic at the sight of a dying tank.

Edit: Ok, take out the alt+tabbing part. I honestly don't know what would happen if they hold a key down and alt+tab at the same time. Lol.

I have a keybord with old fashion upstanding keys, and a celphone that's still abit thick.
Those combined work perfectly to hold down '1' whenever I need to.

Though I rather stay there on the boss fight, if I want to go lazy I set a macro. (not that wizzy's have any spammable skils besides morning dew, you need to cycel atleast 2 of them)

    I do one of three things when I'm in front of a boss and healing my herc (take note that I have stopped using an MP charm around level 80 or so and started using the event MP pots);

    1. If the boss is anything like 3-2 first boss, I use my macro (Venomous Scarab & Heal Pet)
    2. I hold down the key because something unexpected may happen (Peachblossom Ritualist's hammer)
    3. If I know I don't really get enough time to use my attacks and can only spam heal, I jam my key with a penny (or I stack a bunch of spare coins I have on top of the key).

Only the third one applies when I feel like running into the kitchen to get a snack/drinks. And just to quote:

Um, wouldn't that count as an exploit of some sort? It sure as heck looks like one, other than the part about messing with the game files.

Did you really just say that? If it was, and seeing as this is, well, THE OFFICIAL FORUMS, wouldn't a GM or Mod have come in here by now and said something about this being in conflict with the ToS and locked this thread by now? Well, we all don't see that anywhere in the near future, so no, it's not an exploit.
I call it how I see it.

Lack of proof is not a proof of the contrary. However, wouldn't it allow you to gain experience/spirit/items while not actually playing the game? That, my friend, has been used as a means of defining an exploit by GMs in the past.

Though, in honesty, I do not mean to take a side. The argument itself is of no value to me whatsoever. What I do is ask questions that I see have not been raised yet. Because questions lead to answers, answers to knowledge and knowledge is a noble goal.
