okay so ive been saving up to get my tt weapon and my saving have gotten to 1 mil...only problem is i stumbled upon some cat shop selling tt weapon for 850k. At this point I'm at a crossroads because i find something that i really want and can actually AFFORDDD b:pleased...but...it usually doesnt cost that much to make tt weapons(not sure). I've already bought it mind you, its just to get to lvl60 now, but its starting to weight down on me...thoughts like this:

1. im broke
2. i wont get to experience what a TT is like
3. what if this weapon isn't so great it has 1 socket free and magic atk +56
4.i could have saved alot of money
those thoughts were the downside,

Now on the upside:

1. i don't have to search for a squad b:pleased b:laugh

thats about it for the upside xD

soo i just want to know what you guys would do

Depends on the weapon. For some weapons that require infrequent drops, it would be easier to buy those mats than farm them unless you're somebody who would get first pick in a squad (or you're in a friendly squad that gives you what you need.) But usually it's much cheaper to make a weapon than to buy one or all of its mats. True, you have to search for a squad, but you've got 10 levels in between weapons to do so. lol.
For me, I just bought the tt80 glaive already made because it was selling for pretty cheap, and then farmed the mats for the 90. Granted, it's easier for me to do that as a veno, but as a cleric you shouldn't have many problems finding a squad. Before that though, I made the 60 from drops from my 1-1 run (which you will get a quest for when you hit 60), and I bought the mats for my 70 weapon.

If one mil is a lot to you, do not buy that weapon. Realistically it shouldn't cost more than 500k. If memory serves it takes 5 chientien edges to make and an ultimate substance or two.

Ancient Arbors in HT should really only be about 400k or so. You bought an overpriced TT60.

You're still going to be forced to run a 1-1 and 1-2 later in the game through a particular quest, so I wouldn't worry about missing out on a TT run just yet.

"Everything is worth what its purchaser will pay for it."

I highly doubt that there is anyone who has, or will, read this thread that has not paid more for something than it was actually worth simply because they really wanted it whether it be in game or in real life.

It sounds like getting your TT weapon was important to you and exciting to get - if it wasn't, I doubt you would have bought as you did. I know I get excited buying new toys for my characters b:chuckle

Thus, rather than let your purchase weigh you down, take comfort that it is there waiting for you the moment you are ready for it - and yes, the TT 60 is a good weapon for your cleric so have no worries there.

Also, as others have said, there are LOTS of opportunities yet to come your way to muck about in TT so no need to worry about that either.

As for paying too much for the weapon, well, go back and read my opening line again. On those rare occasions when I see a TT 60 for sell on Sanctuary, it is usually going for 550K or more. I can not say what the prices are on your server but even if you did pay a little over market value, a couple 100k extra really won't matter in the long run. As long as you enjoy your purchase, then it was worth every penny b:pleased

I'd say make it and use coins for skills but up to you. A guildie/friend bought my TT60 for me, cheap 250k and gave to me for free, this was whilst we were both trying to form a group for TT1-1 xD

Well, at this point of this server's life, you're better off just buying it. It isn't until TT90+ that you really need to be concerned with crafting.

Unless you just really like seeing "Manufactured by (Insert your name here)" on the item.

well i did buy it before i was even 60 b:pleased
i thought of making it at some point, but then realized that gettign blacksmith skill to lvl4 was really hard, was goign to cost me like 3+ mil. If u have a friend who has high enough lvl blacksmith then i would farm mats.

I made my TT weapon and gear, then again I'm the type of person that wants my name on my gear. I'm weird like that, don't know why. Anyway...... It's up to you

Really depends what TT-squads you can get into. If you have a group of friends/faction just helping you farm - sure its cheaper. But that's a pretty rare scenario.

In many cases its cheaper to go dig mid/special mats for 1 day, sell it and buy the TT mats or the weapon.

At higher lvls its normally cheaper to buy an already crafted, refined and sharded weapon than farming it yourself than spending money on refines and shards.

But yeah it all depends on what deals you can get, luck with drops or TT-parties.

I find that if you are willing to look for the item you want when it's finished (refined and sharded). you can pretty much always find it cheaper then what it'd cost you if you were to sell all the mats/mirages/gems that would be required to make the weapon. reason: nobody wants to decompose a well refined and sharded weapon (or piece of armor for that matter). It usually will still cost more then the mats for the weapon, but once you include sharding and refining is usually when you save money. My prime example of this is I wanted a new cape as mine was rather outdated. So I watched in the ah and eventually found a 4 soc immac garnet +5 cape for 3mil. which is far better then I would have expected and far cheaper then I could have even boughten 4 immac garnets for.

I would have saved myself from the trouble (if I wasn't a veno) and just bought the weapon pre-made since it's not that expensive, but keep in mind:

I am a veno with a herc, I can farm TT if needed.
Farming TT1-1 takes about 20 minutes each time. (I haven't done that instance in a while now so my time estimate could be wrong)
I call it how I see it.

Best thing to do is get some flourish orbs (make them, get someone to make them or buy them) and farm. If you start farming TT1-1 at 60 get concentrate orbs for MP recovery. I advise to get some friends for TT so you can farm them without worrying about strangers taking mats...

I made 3 TT60 axes, on the way to make a 4th one. I gave all the 3 ones already made to friends and I made that from my barb b:laugh. You don't need to be rich to farm TT1-1. Making it is a lot more worth it than buying.
