NPCs that need new homes

things have gotten more interesting in west and central Archo, but WAY too crowded! it seems to me that it would be a good idea if perhaps some NPCs hired a U Haul, and moved to less crowded digs....my suggestions:

1. the Matchmaker. of all the places in Archo, they had to put him on a street? what an ugly place for a wedding! there are nice little gazebos around town, or majestic porticos, that would give a wedding a pretty background, and some peace from the hurlyburly of the shopping district of West Archo. my suggestions: move the pet trainer presently in the gazebo in Northwest Archo, or the portico north of MrsZoo, in SE Archo. there is also a nice gazebo in that area, but i cant remember what new NPC is occupying it presently.

2. the School Teacher and

3. Head Hunter: both need new homes. there are tons of places all over Archo where they could be put, to spread out the congestion....why put them in the same place? my suggestion would be on the east side, one on either side of the harbor.

i do realise the basic idea was to make it easy for everyone to find them, but since the autotracker was put in, its no longer necessary to crowd all them near each other, where they can be seen while doing other quests. spreading things out makes the town more realistic, as wel, i think.

I agree, a sensible suggestion. I like where the BH is currently located at and i think it was a good idea in principle to utilize the location but in all seriousness it really is something of a drag to have to fly up and down the platform every time you turn a BH in, especially since people may be waiting for you on an instance. A ground level place might allow the use of mounts and be more comfortable.

The Bounty Hunter and School Teacher definitely need to me apart, IMO. Since yesterday the population of central Archosaur has doubled or so.

Very good suggestions, Fox! It's already so crowded in West Arch, some more thought by the Devs as to where to locate new (and some of the old) NPC's would have been forsightful, to say the least! Let's hope they read these suggestions and make some appropriate changes/additions, from now on......well, one can only hope!

In another mmo (won't name it besides it can't hold pwis standard at all =P) we had a market place. Problem was just that ppl also located themselves in the "main town", but on the market place they had made it impossible to place shops at the pathes which u could then walk on. i guess u could close off a city too. Well just could be a way to do it, would have to place the marked in some sort of other map or cave thingy, like the battle arena or something. Could remove the shops from west archo, but would remove the possibility to place ur shop near something related to what u sell. In the other mmo, u could place shop wherever u wanted to but most ppl used the market, well maybe also becuz it was only on one server (we could jump servers) but don't have to do it completly like that. Just an idea, cuz the shops are really annoying if u just want to bank or in quest >.< it crashed me or my hubby several times at matchmaker so we lost our MQ b:cry, and u can't get it back so unfairb:cry

Moving the Head Hunter and the Teacher (maybe not this npc cuz of the long timer) would just move the lag elsewhere, but good suggestions anyways.

Matchmaker at SE maybe =O, i mean i like that place, its so peacefull, would be nice, and less crowded.
Dreamsweavers GhostDogz are looking for you to join the pack =). We are still small but are growing into a fun, friendly and helpful fact. We value that our lower lvls also get the experience they need for their class, so we get some awsome ppl =). all we ask of u is to be okay active (not has to be on 7days a week, 1 is enough) and to bring ur good mood =3 cya ingame!

Just put a head hunter inside of each dungeon.

Maybe let couples spawn the marriage NPC in any part of the map.

Excellent ideas. Especially the matchmaker, weddings amongst traders and chat spam is well....

But congestion really has become a big problem for all of these NPC's.

I definitely agree with this. It was bad enough with the bounty hunter crowd making it difficult to see anything on the platform, and annoying to have to fly up there all the time, but now it is ten times worse. I can't even find the school teacher most of the time due to the crowd (holding down shift and hovering my mouse all over the place is what I end up doing). And the lag is getting bad up there now too. Toss one of them in north arch, there is nothing there. I would like to see them both off the platform but would be satisfied if at least one was moved.

Also.. Head Hunter walking around would be funny as hell, I can see the world chat spam looking for him now xD

Haha, those are good ideas -though people cry enough about trying to find Duke Blacke. ;P

If they can't move the npcs, they can at least make them bigger or stand out more through the thick crowd of people. It would still lag, but you could easily click on the npc and leave right away rather than lagging and aimlessly shift-clicking.

    Suggestions.....

Matchmaker: Since you can get married at 30 (i think) anyone getting married should also be able to fly. Why not put the matchmaker in a nice little house around sanctuary... much nicer environment. Low levels can fly there to avoid mobs. (except maybe those stupid cyannar spectars)

School Teacher: Why not move her to the little used area in the south east corner of arch under that long pavilion thing next to the zoologist.

Bounty Hunter: Before BH the center of arch really wasnt that bad anyway so he could probably stay put. If you really think he should be moved, though it would be nice to have the hunter and the teacher next to each other, to divide the lag he could be sent to the north west corner where there are all those basically unused buildings sitting there. As i remember there is just a pup, adventure assistant and the npc for, I think, Scroll I.

But yea I have to agree the lag was ridiculous yesterday even with best performance on.

I fully agree with allowing the Marriage NPC to be spawned, along with moving other key NPCs to opposite areas. As far as moving them to separate areas, you will have those crying that they have to go to different areas to pick each up, however not moving them they cry because of lag. Pick the lesser of two evils and separate them.

As far as Marriage NPC, since when did everyone get married in the same place. This game has many beautiful settings in this "Perfect World" where marriages can be done, why not let the couple choose "Their" spot. How many lines of code would it take to put it in, I am sure less than the new and oh so not useful school teacher.

//Signed I think any high volume NPC's should be moved apart and any in West Arch should be moved out like the Crazy Stone folks.

Give them some more space so people can get too them because it's hard enough with a combination of lag and folks keeping their mounts on the whole time.

All the cat shops and chat spammers would still pick the ones in Archosaur because that's where everyone is. However, it could work none of the multiple NPCs were in Achosaur.

Well, altho the idea has as a target less congestion, I am afraid having these very popular NPCs all over Archo will do exactly the opposite and ALL the city will be laggy.

    Just a thought

oh, man, that would be perfect! so beautiful there!

but to have the Matchmaker there would endanger the lower level players who would want to get married....too many mob hazards on the way. even if the couple managed, guests they invite might not be able to get there. but yeah, i could see the little gazebo outside of town as a perfect spot for a wedding....if a 'Huggy Hare free zone could be created around it, to keep those stinkers from pop shotting the wedding party and guests! with those guys, at least you would never run out of ice at the party afterward...just throw in a few frozen guests!b:chuckle

Moving some NPC's to less crowded locations does seem like a good idea. Plus, I always seem to run into the Eldest Matchmaker(quite literally) whenever I want to visit the apothecary just behind him.

Agreed, please move the School Teacher somewhere else. Archosaur has lots of great places, including that stone structure near the pagoda pond in the South District. It's a miracle that the center platform in Archosaur hasn't collapsed yet.

For the Matchmaker, I highly recomend a small chapel or some sort of gazebo somewhere in the outskirts, or even in one of those deserted alleys in South and West Archosaur.

Change the Matchmaker locations and I'll be happy. Seriously, what made them think it'd be an amazing idea to put the guy in the shopping district? People don't get married in the main aisle of Wal-Mart. Move the guy to maybe that pretty pool area in the South. It's not fun to get married when you're lagging like crazy.
